Hiya!! :hello:
Well after my wobble I'm feeling a little better still struggling a bit though.
Thank you all so so much for your helpful and kind comments.
I really couldn't do this without this forum you are all so friendly, non judgmental, kind and helpful! Thank you!
I can't manage to go through a reply to everyone separately as I feel a bit overwhelmed. So I will just give a bit of an update.
I got paid today, hallelujah!!!!!! :j
I have changed my Halifax ultimate reward acc to a reward acc so won't pay the fee anymore thank you for the suggestion of phoning them.
However that did mean I had to get some alternative break down cover because I do need that. It was £27.99 for the year but I went through top cash back and will get £10 back so I classing it as 17.99 for the year so less than £1.50 a month rather than £15 a month
I've paid a very payment of £52 that was interest free until Jan 16.
My very payments are:
£228 Interest free until 15-4-16
£224 interest free until 13-5-16
£92 Interest free until 10-6-16
£413 interest free until 30-9-16
I need to work out the best way to tackle it as they all finish being 0% at different times.
I have got my budget set for the month and have already used a bit on RAC breakdown and a couple of bits for my son, but I have made a note of them in my spending fracker app I have £400 left for the month for petrol, shopping, socialising, school snack money, and anything else that isn't a bill basically.
Now I originally thought any money left over I will split and put half into EF and half to Very BUT (don't shout at me) I have changed my mind. This month and next month any leftover cash will go towards Xmas. Now I know what you're all thinking Pop's ain't serious about this debt busting! I really am but I'm also a VERY self aware person and I know that if I can't to afford to buy what I want to at Xmas I'm going to revert back to my naughty ways and use very bnpl and CC's so this for me is the most sensible option.
Don't get me wrong this is not an excuse for me to go wild! I won't spend it for the sake of it and if there's anything left over I WILL be putting that towards debt.
Anyway.....there's my update0 -
Also just agreed wit a relative not to buy the boys (my son) and her son this year as they're getting older and we live in a different country it's hard to find things they'd like and are light to send so that's a saving of £100

Well done pops on sorting your account and your breakdown cover. Any saving you make is a saving however small.
I totally forgot about the Xmas thing and not overpaying too much this year. I got so caught up in payday and my CC statement coming in at once and just paid the CC payment according to my snowball without thinking
I will have to rethink or win the lottery tomorrow :T

Hi popstess
The hardest thing I find about the debt free journey is having patience and learning the resilience to keep going even when you wobble or when expensive spends, like Christmas, come up. A lovely forumite once said to me that every extra penny you can pay off your debt is one step closer, I try to make payments little and often as it feels like I'm chipping away at it.
I hope you are feeling a bit brighterLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

WOW FMESS
You have done so well on the amount you have paid off already
When you say you pay little and often do you mean you pay small amounts against a CC for instance?SP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000

Hi again
Don't worry about the "wobble" as others have said it is natural to feel a bit overwhelmed sometimes.
As long as your debt is going down and not up you will get there.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0
