I've been given around 5kg of cherry tomatoes.
I'm currently turning 2kg's into chutney (then I have no more jars!)
They are quite watery and don't tend to make a good sauce.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to do with them?
I could buy jars but I'd rather not (not very frugal!)

take out the seeds and inner pith and they won't be as watery
make passatta and then freeze in blocks.
I'd make some sweet chilli dipping sauce, some passatta, or some chilli and tomato jam.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

you could always make a salsa, just chop fresh ripe tomatoes and a small onion. Shred a handful of fresh cilantro/coriander into tiny strips and tear a handful of basil leaves. Put the whole lot into a large bowl, sprinkle with sea salt and few grinds of fresh black pepper and a large glug of fruity, extra virgin olive oil, cover and leave for 30 minutes.0

I baked mine al-la Nigella's moonblush tomatoes, but it took several goes. You could just roast them, then they lose water and make a much better sauce.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I like roasting them with onion, garlic and a few herbs and them blitz them in the food processor and freeze the sauce to use in bolognese, chilli and other pasta dishes.0 -

Make lots of sauce and add plenty of tomato pur!e. That will thicken it up nicely.0
