-I am aiming to spend a grand total of £0,00 this weekend
    [STRIKE]-Check OLB[/STRIKE]

Thats all i can think of at the moment. Have a lovely day everyone.

A few crossed off the list :)

HAd to pop into town to get my sons prescriptions, which is always such a pain. The psych either never writes a correct prescription, or the pharmacy here is useless!
  • Just got cheque from Music Mag Pie for £51.85 for getting rid of a tonne of old dvds and xbox/ps3 games. Result!

Someone coming today to buy gym equipment that we have basically given away just to get rid, £50 the lot for about £600 of kit.

So, over £100 today from selling old stuff and getting a load of space back. It feels goooood!

    Hi All

I think I'm going mad. Honestly thought I'd checked in today already!

Went shopping. Going to do a sausage and veg 1 dish oven roasted thing tonight. May have been subconsciously channelling you Dawn :) although the fact that 8 sausages are just £1 in Mr S at the moment may also have influenced me.
There is an apple crumble in the fridge to use up as well so bought a can of 20p custard. Cosy night of comfort style food coming up.

Found 30p on the floor by the bus stop. Then an 18p brand match coupon sitting in a trolley.

Took a load of Mr S reciepts in to claim the points. They are all ours for once but things OH had bought without using the nectar card. Think it worked out 64 points in the end.

Watching The Muppets on Netflix at the moment so cheap entertainment.

Got the CC statement. Next min payment will take us to almost sub 3k. Which is very exciting.

Think that's all for now :)

    Hello Weekend Frugalistas,
Busy day today. Was on the road heading south before 8.00 this morning, to visit my Mum & Dad, & take them out for shopping as Dad still can't drive following his recent surgery. They were both on good form, all things considered.....Mum has 2 black eyes & a bruised nose from smacking herself in the face with the garage door & 3 bad bruises across her forehead from slamming it on her friend's car door! Anyway, she seemed fine & was happily knitting Christmas puddings when we left! Today's small things:
*We were treated to coffee & scones, & later to lunch, so that was nice.
*Usual completely random selection of gifts from Mum: 2 packs of bread rolls, a pile of magazines, a nice 'Monsoon' skirt (unworn) which was too long for Mum (I'm only about an inch taller, but I like maxi-skirts with my DMs, so that's OK), jam jars, 1 tin of cat food - expensive - had WHOLE PRAWNS IN. Cat was ecstatic!
*Free 'Guardian' from Waitrose (doing their shopping, which was a bit cheeky, but they already had a paper, so didn't want another one).
*Did not spend ANY money while perusing high street of town where I grew up, despite seeing some nice things.
*Back 'om up in t'barren Midlands, we turned a bucket of our apples into brown sauce - 10 jars & a small bowl of the stuff. We make it every year & very nice it is too. I always get an extra jar out of the mixture when mr f helps as he simply will not let any escape, it is forced through the sieve with his Atlas-like strength until every last scrap is collected & bottled! I think he must be thinking about all the lovely sausages, etc, it's going on that motivates him. Anyway, it's all labelled & ready to be packed away in the pantry (if I can find a space) when it's cool.
*Swerved a take-away tonight. 75 mile drive home, then f*rted about making sauce, we were very close to ordering a pizza, but then we decided we were neither hungry nor flush enough, so we're cooking something quick instead. There's a naughty little spend avoided.
I need to have a productive day tomorrow, but have some enjoyable stuff on the list, so hopefully will be able to crack on with all of that.

  • Evening! :D
I don't know why I ever put 'nap' on my list. It never, ever happens. As it was I was busy until 5pm and then spent the evening reading the Frugaldom thread... Strangely don't feel tired at all now though.

    Here's today's list:
    [STRIKE];) check banking[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE];) ds to football[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE];) both kids to gymnastics[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE][STRIKE];) catch up with bestie over coffee[/STRIKE]
;) hoover right through the house[/STRIKE]
    ;) clean the bathroom
[STRIKE];) load of washing and line dry[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE];) nsd[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE];) meals from stores[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE];) inventory food stocks[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE];) read through my 'Girl Called Jack' books for inspiration to use up stuff I have in house.[/STRIKE]
    ;) nap

Was meant to be catching up with bestie at St@rbucks but I attempted to cancel due to sheer exhaustion. She wasn't having any of that and, even though she's in the middle of having her entire house redecorated, told me to get myself round to her house for a cup of tea. Which bagged me the nsd I had been hoping for. Also got a couple of hours of quality catch up, which was really lovely.
Foxgloves - I adore brown sauce and wish that I could make my own... sounds yummy. Hope that your mam is doing ok.
Bob - so exciting to get into the next number down.

Well that wasn't much of a night. A certain little lady was up for most of it. Now she's snoring away. And I am sitting here with match sticks for my matchsticks ;) thank goodness she is cute.

I have to go to the drop in clinic this morning at the hospital to have us both signed off as they are happy she has now passed her birth weight etc. The walk will be nice and hopefully wake me up. Plus not rain.

Shouldn't have to do too much today as we shopped yesterday and all the washing is done. May try and have a snooze in front of a film this afternoon. I also bought my son a £2 pumpkin from Mr S and he and his Dad are planning to carve it this afternoon. I love Halloween so quite fun planning it all.

    Hope everyone is ok today.
