If you feel that way about it why not scrap all your computers and phones and take up spoon whittling?

I didn't get a 56k modem until about 1999, when they were fairly new. A lot has happened in just 16 years!

Clearly you think of the internet as work. For me it is an entertainment.

You are correct about me not knowing what a holiday is though - as I no longer work every day is pretty much the same where I can do whatever takes my fancy. So far spoon whittling hasn't figured in that choice of occupations though.

Workmate has 30+ Mbps from EE at his house, EE mast is just 2 fields away. He also has 50GB plan.
Land line gives 1.5Mbps on a good day.
    Move along, nothing to see.

:D True, once retired you never get a day off..:D
The internet is both work and entertainment when at home. However, once on holiday, my entertainment choices are very different. They don't include anything I can sit at home and do...;)

We have a holiday van there and surely, the fact that they are devoid of most 21st century diseases, is one of the main attractions......Holiday - Clues in the title...;):D

Ah! How I remember many a happy holiday spent in Norfolk before the intrusion of modern technology. Days spent in simple pursuits - bogle fork clenching, hare whurdling and plume scrumpling, not to mention the occasional spot of splod cobbling if the weather was favourable.

Simple, but happy times. It’s comforting to know things haven’t changed that much :)
