Do you have any evidence of the Bonus Reward not being paid or are you just making that up as you go along?
It's two parts, flat trade in (£75) and a bonus if it's worth much. I suspect it needs to be a two year old macbook to get the £50 bonus part. There is always a catch, do you have any evidence that it doesn't work this way ?NiftyDigits wrote: »As to the PSU wattage of 180, personally I would ignore that rating. Likely closer to 300 watts.

I wouldn't
Yes, it says in the T&C......which I actually bothered to read, that any genuine Windows XP machine will qualify, regardless of age.
Whereas you appear to be making it up as you go along.
Also the HUKD threads will give an indication....
As to the PSU...have you actually calculated the rating according to the specification shown?
There is good reason as to why I post the picture.0 -

The total PSU draw is rated at 180w, those are draws per individual rail, it will ripple beyond 180w as the electrolytics will not have enough farads to cope. Not to mention the transformer nor the bridge rectifier will be rated for greater than 180w
If you read the T &C it says qualifies for trade in but not necessarily the bonus, they are very coy about the bonus in the T&Cs
this is the section to which you refer:- For your Trade-in to qualify for the promotion it must be a working, complete and undamaged, (reasonable wear and tear accepted) Laptop (minimum 10” screen size), Tablet (minimum 9” screen size) or Desktop. Your Trade-in must be no more than 6 years old (age limitations are not applicable to genuine Microsoft XP computers) and complete with all accessories including working battery and power supply where applicable.

Sorry, I don't see anything about disqualification of the bonus. There are very specific costs attached to non worked components and damage, but nothing relating to bonus disqualification.
You are just making it up as you go along. Seriously, rather than banging on, arguing about nothing, why not communicate with the people with actually experience od these promotions?
As to the PSU, I'm not going to argue further about the rating as I haven't tested it.0 -

Or anything about qualification for the bonus perhaps ?
Good luck testing the psu, and do check the ripple with a scope, that's if the overcurrent protection doesn't kick in first.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

That would suggest that the bonus is automatic....unless you have something to show to the contrary. They would have to have a clause in the T&C as to the cases in which the bonus would be disallowed.
Quite frankly I find it ridiculous that you have attempted to sling mud around about the HP deal without a single shred of evidence.
As to the PSU, I don't have one.0 -

Convenient
It's a bonus. You don't need to do anything other than to conforming to the written T&C.
Why would you expect me to have one of those PSU? Are you completely !!!!!!? I found the picture online.0 -

So why two parts then, what's the trade in and what's the bonus ?
Can you confirm that it's a trade in with a free bonus of £50 or is it a conditional bonus ?
