When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending! :money:

Morning all

Can't believe it isn't the weekend yet - I am SO tired at the moment. I slept a little better last night - I think perhaps thanks to the relaxation app. I was awake three times, but no struggle to get back to sleep. Wonder what the day ahead will bring...
Here's my list for today;
check banking
load of washing
hoover
plan next week
mark a set of books
keep the heating off if possible
nsd
all food from stores
do not get stressed out
I think that's it for now - have a good day everyone. Not giving up

Hi CCL!
today I'll be doing the following:
- taking lunch to work (a new habit to break an old one, working hard to keep it going this week)
- check Noddle (dreadful credit rating, but a kick to get my financial life sorted)
- check online banking
Think that's it
Have a good day everyone!

Morning DFW-Ninjas,
I'm up early as my body decided it was a work day when it's actually my weekend, and, as I'm changing back to nightshifts, I don't have to work now til Sunday night.
This is good news. I enjoyed this week at work but I was so tired last night.
Then next week I'm doing 50 hours, finally with my own team of staff who in turn are managing up to 350 people on site. Gulp! Seriously though, bring it on.
I'm going to grow this list as I do it.
Debt-Free Nillionaire Month 5:
* Getting a £1.76/hour performance-related payrise from Sunday!
* £3.30 un-franked stamp yesterday and lots of spare A4 paper in the post to write on.
* Drinking free sample tea this morning.
* Sort out RoyalMail surveys. OH has had £10 of 'free' vouchers from them this week. These are definitely worth doing, especially if you live near a post box.
* Topped up weekly pill box so I don't forget to take meds which would result in illness and income loss.
* Checked payslip. Tax code still hasn't been updated so I'm still due a rebate. Printer cartridge is running out but will use it til it's truly dead.
* Cleared emails in case they brought any money!
* Checked broadband allowance. All ok.
* Did GfK media survey.
* Checked all Loyalty points balances.
Have a good day everyone.

News:
Martin Lewis was just on the tv talking about reclaiming over-charged TfL Oyster card fares on tube, DLR and rail. If you didn't touch out at your destination you will likely have been charged more than you should have been for the journey and should be eligible for a refund of the over-payment. This is because when you touch in at the start of a Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail or National Rail journey in London, they deduct up to £8.80 from your pay as you go credit. When you touch out at the end, they work out the right fare for your journey and the amount deducted from your credit is adjusted. If you don't touch correctly, they don't know what to charge you, so a maximum fare of up to £8.80 is deducted from your credit.
Martin said that you can log onto the Oyster website and any journeys that are 'incomplete' will show with a yellow triangle against them. You can then apply to have these refunded if, for example, you couldn't tap out because you didn't see a yellow card reader to use or the station was too crowded.
Details of how to get refunded are here. (Link)
This advice does not apply to buses and trams as you only touch in on these.
If you travel via Wimbledon there are different touching in and out rules. (Link)

Thanks for the start CCL
List for today:
Check banks
Find dental appointment card and write dates on the calendar so I don't forget
List of what I have / need to buy for the things I am going to make / bake for baby GD's christening on Sunday
Make and freeze some scones as that was one of the things DD has asked me to do. OH is going to cook some large pork joints for her, so it would be good to get oven things out of the way early! OH worked for a while for a company that did posh hog roasts, so he is the family expert on all roast pork related matters
Meals from stores / garden
Make tomato and basil soup for lunch, from HG roasted tomatoes
Give bathroom a good clean
Groom and exercise pup
General tidy up as the place looks as though a bomb has hit it (probably launched by baby GD and her puppy sidekick yesterday :rotfl:)
Find paperwork for OH's truck and look up when his tax and insurance are due
Walk to sales unit to see if any restocking / tidying needed
Any surveys / FPL
Put away clean laundry dried yesterday
Right, that lot should keep me busy! Hope everyone has a good day
