Thanks all for useful info regarding PAYG credit not necessarily expiring. More advice please? I am confused over 3G/4G. My phone, like me, is an elderly Samsung Galaxy SII. Works well and connects to the internet via wi-fi. Does 3G/4G refer to those who want mobile internet connection which I don't need. Just need a SIM that will enable me to make phone calls and text messages but not any kind of bundle. Hope that makes sense!0

This guy provides a well researched and up-to-date list of mobile pay-as-you-go tariffs here:

You don't need 4G.
I think every pay-as-you-go tariff provides access to the 3G network if it's available in the area, and you are using a 3G capable handset (if not then you'll just use the 2G network).
As stated above, if someone wants to use the Three pay-as-you-go tariff, they need to have a 3G capable mobile, as Three doesn't have a 2G network (in a few limited areas, Three has access to EE's 2G network, but this isn't something to rely on).0 -
Talk Mobile is the only other MNVO running on Vodafone, so that is your only option if it has to be Voda.
Not quite - there's also Lebara Mobile. (And also TalkTalk mobile - but you also need to be a TalkTalk landline customer to be able to get their mobile plans.)0 -
There is also Kontactmobile - which seems to do bundles for £5.
I found a sim offer via their Facebook page.
TalkTalk mobile is (or possibly) has already moved to O2.The_Groat_Counter wrote: »Not quite - there's also Lebara Mobile. I moved to Sainsbury's mobile in the last few months after my Lebara SIM card was cancelled due to my failure to top up/make a call/text in the specified time.

I am grateful for the double points on all my S shopping until 07/2016, and the £5.00 credit to my linked Nectar card, but it is really most inconvenient....Free thinker.:cool:0 -
