How do we stop these calls?

Does anyone have any advice about being plagued with phone calls from accident compensation companies?
I asked about how this came about on the forum some time ago & it seems our insurer would have sold on our details after we'd had a non fault accident. We hit a pot hole causing damage & the council paid out including our excess.
But these companies will not leave us alone. They thankfully only have our mobile number, but they call up to 6 times per day. Recently, they have started using local numbers, so we answer as we think it will be a customer enquiring about work we do. They must somehow use some software programme for this as the number is different each time. So there is no way to bar the calls. We've asked them to stop, told them no one was injured, insisted they should not call again, but they persist.
We cannot change our number as we've paid for our advertising for our business & old customers wouldn't be able to reach us. Any ideas as it's driving us mad. They also use a different company name each time, always just initials. So I wouldn't even know who report or to who.
We are no longer with the insurance company we made the claim with for this reason.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

A lot of the calls are just random. many people who havent had an accident in decades get the calls.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I used to hardly ever get any cold calls, perhaps one or two a month. Then last month I went onto Moneysupermarket for a house insurance quote, and now I'm plagued by them. Several a day.0

Maybe they are but the ones I started to get after an accident at the end of last year know some of the circumstances so they've obviously got them from somewhere.
OP, I haven't managed to shake them off yet, it had gone quiet but I got one again yesterday. I have become very impolite with them - it doesn't stop them but it makes me feel better.0 -
This happened to my MIL after an accident, she was plagued with them when no injury had happened.
Our son, who works in a related field, told her to ask for their names, and company details, then explain that they had been repeatedly told that no injury had been sustained, ask them did they understand and accept that, and then go on to say that further calls would be seen as incitement to commit fraud, reported to the relevent industry body and to the police, and that the call had been recorded.
They never called again.0 -

Since adding a callblocker on the landline its very very rare that any unwanted calls get through.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

It doesn't work in my case as they use a different number every time - one day I had calls that purported to come from Milford Haven and Sunderland, although I suspect they both in fact came from the same call centre on a grotty industrial estate that wasn't in either place.0
