Uber taxi?

Believe this is gonna help us (the public) - Been stranded twice this year with the big companies (mid evening so should have been no problem) but left standing at the city hall for 30 mins . . . .
Gonna try this Uber thing and see how it goes . . . . there is a £10 credit for first time users so cant be bad.
Will still use my local firm to get into town as they are always reliable for getting into town, its getting home that's always the problem.
How do you get the £10 credit? ThanksGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Tried Uber today for the first time - was ok getting into the city centre but trying to get out at around 2.30 there were no cars available for quite some time so had to revert to Fonacab who were there in minutes. Looks like Uber may have a coverage problem. (Text removed by MSE Forum Team) Interestingly, noticed a number of young lads being dropped off in a red VW Passat at The Jaffa Fountain at Victoria Square - passenger was obviously paying the driver but no taxi sign or permit on the car.0

This hasn't been what I have found at all - I've used the service since it launched here and never had an issue getting a taxi. Having said that Uber still wont be caught up with the # of taxis FonaCab and Value Cabs have just yet - but I'm guessing their coverage is on the up.
You are also more likely at the minute to be able to get an Uber taxi at the busiest times of the day, ironically, since Uber taxi drivers can pick and choose their own hours.
But as far as I know drivers are not required to actually put the "Taxi"/"Uber" sign on top of the car but every car and driver is subject to all the laws of a regular taxi driver in the UK - Uber is a global company with some pretty strict regulations to protect its drivers, customers and brand.Mortgage starting balance (June 2014): £75,000
