Cancelling pending debit card payment

I stupidly purchased 2 x match tickets for a Liverpool game from an online ticket company called Gosportstickets. They quoted £95 per ticket but when I checked out booking fees were added that brought the figure to £217 - I paid it by debit card and when the emailed confirmation came through it was €334!
This rang alarm bells so when I did further research into this company there are all sorts of horror stories - tickets dont arrive, access to stadium is refused, people are charged extra etc.
They have emailed me Terms and conditions that I must sign and return to receive the tickets - these t&c's look dodgy to say the least. My bank say the payment is pending and cannot be stopped. If I don't sign and return the t&c's I will definitely not receive the tickets, if I do sign I might not get correct tickets and they are authorised to debut my account again if "higher category" tickets are only available (I ordered "best available".
HELP!!!!!!

Well, 'horror stories' and 'might not get' can't be a reason for cancellation.
What do the T&C actually say about the money if you "don't sign and return the t&c's" and "definitely not receive the tickets"?
DSR's (CCR from 2014) cooling off period doesn't apply to tickets.
If you authorised payment in £, but they charged you in €, this can be a reason for a chargeback, but you still have to pay the amount you authorised.0 -
Dont sign, dont get tickets

Why do people only ever seem to "research" further into companies AFTER they've handed over a substantial sum of money? :think:I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0

yes you do!
If you don't sign it you wont get tickets, therefore you would have a case for chargeback, you haven't gotten what you paid for.
Same goes if you do sign and return it, if you don't get what you paid for issue a chargeback0 -
It's not a very good case for a chargeback. Chargebacks are great when they are not defended, when defended with a valid argument they fail, the site has a valid argument.glentoran99 wrote: »yes you do!

At this stage the seller has done nothing wrong, there is nothing to say the tickets wont be delivered.0 -

What valid argument do they have for not supplying something paid for and not refunding? Not sure not returning those terms and conditions would stand up.
Given its actually illegal to re-sell football tickets in the UK I don't think they have much chance of winning that one0
