The cheque i have sent can be checked at any time by the bank to see if it has been cashed?
Of course (as could you if you had online banking, I assume not).

Give the bank a ring now (you have nothing to lose) and tell them the cheque's lost in the post. They should immediately tell you whether the cheque has been presented before they put a stop on it.
  • If they have cashed it and i cant get hold of them, what can i do?

Why don't you follow everyones advice on this thread and find out for sure whether it has been cashed or not and then come back here to see what to do?

If it has been cashed, tell them you have proof they have the money.
If not, put a stop on it and re-issue the cheque or better still pay by Paypal if you can.

Have you still not rung the bank? Read my lips: Ring the bank now (as above). Why is that so hard?

    Advice for morons?

About 80 people have told her to ring the bank and she still insists on asking completely impossible to answer questions instead of doing that

I have to conclude she is simple

Don't suppose you could send me a cheque please? Just sign it, I'll fill in all the relevant details. I'm not sure you would realise.

Well if thats happened your !!!!!!

However phone your bank, explain and ask them to a) confirm if its been cashed and b) if it hasnt cancel the cheque as its lost in the post

If it hasnt been cashed arrange repayment

If it has see if the seller has made a mistake , if not and its a deliberate con you've been scammed and your only hope is small claims court and even then depending on location thats likely to be unviable or impossible

but please stop asking stupid questions people cant answer

    PHONE YOUR !!!!!!! BANK
