Car purchased now dangerous

hello
I posted this in motoring but thought I would try here too as not had a reply.

hopefully someone can help me out. I brought a car on the 1st October 15 a used car a local garage. The car has a standard 3 month warranty (which I cant understand ) So if anyone has a clue about these that would be great.

After a few days I noticed when a bad sound and some warning lights on. E-mailed the saleman I was asked to return it to be looked at. That was yesterday, they turned off a warning light but as for the knocking sound I was told it was just a rubber making the exhaust knock, "it's nothing".

I wasn't happy that "it's nothing" and took it into a garage today to be told and shown the brakes are very dangerous and a mount needs to be replaced. quoted 550. and advised that I shouldn't be driving it as its dangerous.

I am aware that a new law come in on the 1st Oct which was the day I brought it where you can ask for a refund. I part exchanged my car with the car when I brought it too. I need a car for work in the morning as it is part of my job role to have a vehicle.

So anyone know where I stand and what would you do now?

thank you please reply!!

You have replies in Motoring (including mine). It's Sunday - be patient.

Please don't cross post in several sections, it just gets confusing for everyone trying to help you. :-)

I suspect what the OP means is that they didn't get the answers they wanted.

    What car is it?
What mount? A carrier? Caliper? Or the Hub? Whichever, it must be a blooming top end car to warrant a price tag that high!!!

Also you say you heard a sound after purchasing it and suffered the issues thereon... so the fault wasn't inherent. So I don't believe you'd have a right to a refund. But maybe some rights are far as repairing it is

It's a 2010 Renault Twingo with 42K miles on and the OP paid £3250 2nd hand for it (from their thread in Motoring)

In which case it sounds like ops being royally spanked!

Have the car transported elsewhere op. They are probably right in that it's not safe to drive

If you look at the Motoring forum thread you'll find that the "expert advice" regarding the problems was made by Kwikfit on a Sunday.

Make of that what you will.
