Just to announce that on reflection I have decided I am not leaving  - I understand others' reasons for going and we all make our own choices where we like to spend our time, but I will continue to stick around as I am sure it will settle down again - we have survived disruption in the past :).

I am sorry some people have been targeted and offended, it is not nice and some of the recent comments were not acceptable. Just because we have not named you to defend you or stepped in to tell people off, it does not mean we agree with any of the comments made - we were trying not to get involved in the hope people could resolve their own differences.

I am sorry some people have been wound up by some of the recent posts and responded or retaliated. Sometimes posts gloat or rub us up the wrong way, but sometimes it is best to ignore and move on.

I am sorry that some people feel the need to keep going over recent events until they are fully resolved - again, it does not mean the rest of us agreed with what has happened when we ask to move on, just that nothing is being achieved by continuing the arguments apart from causing more upset and driving more people away.

I am sorry if some people are only here for glitches and are not interested in the rest of this soap opera and get frustrated by all the posts that they see are off topic, or are not interested in glitches at all and want the wider discussions. This thread covers both It does not make people greedy for being interested where the next glitch is coming from or who will find it (this is a money saving site after all) - we have said before some people like to hammer glitches, others just get a few things, while yet others just like to read about it. Without glitches and deals, and the skilled people to find them, this thread would not have its main reason to exist and we would not have the opportunity for the wider discussions.

You see, I can say sorry and genuinely mean it. I know some people struggle to apologise and we sometimes have to offer the olive branch as a way back. Overall I think people start from a position of wanting to be nice to each other. It doesn't make what has been said "right" or "fair" as some things cannot be unsaid (though they can be deleted inline, others can quote them). Sometimes forgiveness is required too so that we can move on.

At risk of repeating myself (I'm sorry, couldn't resist after that :p):

Can I respectfully suggest that if the current shenanigans are getting to people that you take time out, rather than the increasing number of "I am leaving" posts, that you may regret later? Please lurk, don't leave.

I think I speak for the silent majority when I say we too are fed up with the way this thread has been recently and hope it can recover and return to its more positive focus before there is no one left or we are shut down.

The minority' are spoiling it for the majority.

    Take care

So please, it is a new day, can we please draw a line and try to move on?

    Many thanks

Talking of glitches I have just unearthed an absolute beauty! Just in time for xmas too - two boxes of chocs and (guess what?) a certain box of cereals. Bit like the old wee tub of rice glitch. The cereal doesn't show on apg. Spend £10. apg=£14! I'll tell you more when I've finished filling the spare bedroom but I want to go and empty the locals first.

Pork mince makes fairly good substitute for beef in chillis. Although we have been known to use pack of each for the flavour and make big pot and freeze some. :)

  • Morning All,

Back from taking DD to work and visited M's on the way back.

Stocked up with Xmas sweeties for all my students (2 tins £5), 50p pumpkins for my Home Management class next week, (Pumpkin carving has to be a skill doesn't it?), and a couple of boxes of £2 Victoria biscuits for Xmas pressie cupboard.

Don't think I want to read back

If anyone feels generous enough to bump any good glitches which I have missed during the week. (Have to ban myself from the thread, so I get some work done!!!). I would be very grateful. :A

DS2 needs another pair of school shoes after only 6 weeks!!! so we will be going shopping in town. Hope to pick up the O2 lollies and take a couple of bags of clothes to H&M.

Have a lovely Saturday. HE x
