I have to share this with you all. Do you remember when we all did the bingo cashback? Well, Caesars didn't pay the £45 cashback as I hadn't met the t&c apparently, so did the usual put in a claim, nudged Tcb several times, but gave up in the end. That was back in Aprl 2013. Would you believe, I have just looked at my emails to find that it has now gone 'payable' Two years it has taken......

You should ask them for interest on the amount

Following on from yesterday I eventually managed to register.

You firstly get to check which charity you want to support.

you choose what offer you want - there are 3 - buy champagne and get flowers free, get a percy pig free with a £15 spend but I choose 10% discount on food and I think we have 2 weeks to use it. Not sure how it works but hopefully it will be just automatic at the tills.

you then get a survey to complete for 35 sparks - I just ticked everything.

Sparks have no monetary value - that takes some getting your head around.

You can check what sparks you have collected and what level you are at and how many until the next level - of course being given a target to aim at is like a red rag to a bull :D

at 3000 sparks it says you will be the first to see the new season previews - I am hoping this will be like the one we went to in Liverpool which also involved a buffet table and nice drinks :D
so I've only got 2965 to go
this is a £300 spend so many people will be at this level in the first few weeks with Christmas fast approaching

Because I am still a Premier club member (this is now defunct) I get double sparks on each shop - although I don't really spend that much in Marks but at least it will help towards the target.

at 14000 you get invites to special events and exclusive shopping evenings and there are even better invites at 1700 sparks.

I think if someone has big purchases to make eg buying wedding suits, furnishing a room etc these higher levels will be very easy to reach.
Possibly Marks are under estimating how many people will actually take part and how fast they will accumulate points and then it will get devalued next year.

in the meantime you get 25 points for a review so I've got 4 reviews to do this afternoon, have to think of something nice to say about marks knickers :) so that's 100 sparks.

also every time you bring in a shwop item - they have big bins next to the tills, you get 50 sparks. I am thinking that in big city stores which have bins at several tills then maybe you could go to all of them with a separate item and scan your sparks card each time - an easy few hundred points at a time.
OK it takes time to stand in various queues but winter is approaching so its warmer to be wondering around Marks :D

Anyway its worth doing an experiment - its a case of getting in the habit of instead of taking your donations into Oxfam, bagging them up separately and putting them with the bags for life so each time you go past Marks you can pop in with an item (you just have to avoid the temptations of the food hall)

sparks cards also work in the caf! - I think its after discounts so I don't know if you get sparks if you have a free coffee voucher

    breaking news

    http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/10/14/uk-marks-spencer-loyaltycard-idUKKCN0S82UA20151014

Marks sent me a new Sparks card today - needless to say as I cant register via the app or via online as the system is too busy

They give a link seems to be non existent but if you go to the bottom of the marks home page there is a link to click

    marksandspencers/sparks

apparently there is a welcome offer already waiting - I want it to be chocolate but its probably a 5% off code

Sparks cards also are supposed to be appearing in stores

the more points you collect the higher your tier but you can also get 25 points for a review and 50 points for a shwop - don't know if there is a limit on this

I am still a member of the now defunct premier Club and I still get those benefits as far as I can tell. You can your sparks first and then your marks cc card or debit card if you have one

I tried this code last night and sadly it didn't work. I'm wondering if its new accounts only?

have you got a spare email or maybe yopmail might work?

failing that try emailing customer services

    Good morning all
I am back from my holiday in Lanzarote. Weather was brilliant, had a couple of 38 degree days. The weather here is dire, I want to go back :(
I did start to read back but changed my mind again. I can see there is a little disharmony going on, so will start from here.
I hope everybody is well, or making a recovery from whatever ails them.
Try and make the best of this horrible day everyone x

OMG I could not cope with 38 degrees, it has seriously got to get colder in Lanzarote

I did wonder about doing the Fire mountains but thought it would be too touristy, its always something we could do another year so I think we are going an excursion called Hidden Lanzarote which will take us into the mountains where hopefully it will the freezing cold we know and love :rotfl:

anyway its time to tackle the rest of the To Do list and get productive.

virtual hugs to everyone on the sick list and everyone having their hospital visits and apps today and hope it all goes well

I did wonder if it might be a good idea to draw a line under all of the unpleasantness over the last few nights/days and if we might really need to start a bright shiny new thread even though this one is just a few days old

They were experiencing a mini heat wave, but apparently, in August it was hitting 43 degrees. I am blonde with fair skin so you can imagine how I wasn't coping with the heat :rotfl:We did what any self respecting tourist would do under those circumstances, sat in an air conditioned bar and kept our fluid intake up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Yes it is very touristy you are right. I haven't heard of that excursion tbh but I don't do heights so it wouldn't be something I could experience, but I agree Hidden Lanzarote sounds brilliant.

Hi mrsmac...I was going to ask yesterday but other things probably would have swallowed up the post...

Are you keeping the christmas tree from your rental?....have you decided on an amicable trade of the items your tenant left for the potential owing rent or are you making deposit deductions...

I'm a little curious as we have a couple of rentals but havent yet had to deal with an unusual situation on check out,I'm sure somewhere down the line we will but I just wondered what your take on it was....
