Post Office ISA Any good?

I'm looking at the Post Office ISA for my relatives but they are not internet savvy. I can't find any telephone contact details for the Post Office ISA on their website which makes me think that it's not an account where they want anyone to contact them by telephone.

I could set up the account online but it needs to be one that they can, for example, go to the Post Office to put into money into whenever they wants to.

I'm a bit worried that the Post office don't make it easy for people to contact them.

What's their customer service like?

They do a couple of ISAs. There is an online ISA which as the name suggests is operated online.

There is also a Premier Cash ISA which you can pay into (but not withdraw) through the Post Office branches.

The main difference seems to be that the Premier Cash ISA is restricted to 2 withdrawals per year but unlike the Online ISA, there is a customer services telephone number on the product page on the Post Office site: http://www.postoffice.co.uk/savings-accounts/premier-cash-isa

Can't comment on their customer service as I haven't used them.

Many people on here have and haven't got great feedback

I have a maturing ISA with the post office next Monday and wrote to them to withdraw the funds (rather than transfer to another ISA). I did ask them to confirm that they'd received my request but it's too early to have expected an reply as yet.

Based on other's experience what are the chances of me getting the cash? I'm going on holiday on that date so can't easily get in touch if they ignore me.

I'm not desperate for the cash but would rather it didn't get tied up for another year.
  • I'm not a customer, but after reading on here, people's experience of their customer service has put me off ever using them. If the person in question isn't internet savvy, I'd recommend finding a suitable account within a building society.

My ISA matured on Monday and I'd requested by letter that I withdraw to my current account. I can now see the funds as pending in my current account so I should see them tomorrow. It hasn't actually cost me a great deal in lost interest but do I have grounds for complaint? I'm more interested in letting them know that I'm not happy with the service than getting any more cash.
