Thought I would come in and give my diary a dust. :o

Things are progressing on the house front, valuations have been done and the mortgage application is jogging along. We did have to change our mortgage provider before our full application was made as the original company removed all products for anyone borrowing over 85% but less than 95% and I wasn't going to pay an extra £100/mth for a 95% mortgage when we don't need one  The mortgage lender we have gone with is almost as willing to lend to people with our IVA history as the original bank so fingers crossed it goes through. It's cheaper than the original lender too :D

I really want to start packing as we have about 8 weeks before the planned move date but I daren't do anything until I know for definite the mortgage is accepted. We have cleared the garage out though and I have one kitchen cupboard and the airing cupboard that need a sort out regardless so may do those today.

In other news, DH was offered an internal promotion of the same size branch as the one he went for and didn't get. It has worked out really well as he would have always preferred this branch, it has a better manager who has great plans for DH career and he will get more money too :D

I have started running again after being a bit hitty missy since December although I am going to defer my place for May's half marathon until next year as after a chest infection and the stress of the house move I have not trained enough. DH is adamant he wants to do it but as he isn't even running at the minute he is being a bit daft.

I am actually sat here in my running gear so better get a wriggle on and get running! :)

Not long after I posted on Saturday morning our mortgage offer dropped through the door. I got very emotional and had to wait 10 minutes before I could ring DH to tell him the good news :rotfl:

I feel I can start to get excited now that we have the offer and, fingers crossed, we can start to pack :D Even DH is getting in the mood and wants to pack up most of the clothes he won't wear in the next 8 weeks or so.

Airing cupboard and big kitchen cupboard done, I just need some big boxes so I can start packing rather than sorting and clearing the rubbish out. This week I am going to sort out the under stairs cupboard, DS summer clothes as non fit and the cupboard under the sink:eek: I may also fill a suitcase with dresses and items I won't use until we move.

I have put a few tins and packets on the kitchen side to use up this week and that fit in with the meal plan as I am determined to move as little as I need to.

As well as redecorating every room in the new house in my head I am also working out some MFW goals for 2 years and for 5 years as getting this house looking good is a long term project :)

It's all gone quiet on the house purchase/sale front. Had a call from our EA to book the survey which has already been done last week and a call from our seller's EA for an update and we were further on than she was expecting at this stage. We should be ready to complete before the date we are ready to move but we need to wait until we have all the money together for the fees.

Removal company I have used for my last 2 moves coming today to give a quote. I am sure we could do it a cheaper way with a man and a van and have even had a number of one given by a friend but the last 2 moves something has gone wrong on moving day and this company went out of their way to help.

I am WFH today so will have a tidy up this morning and tackle the growing washing pile.

Not much to report on the money side, hanging on to every penny I can at the moment.

    Hello, long time no speak!

House move is happening in 3 weeks  :j

We have barely made a start on packing but have done most of the decluttering and I have 2 big bags of clothes and
some toys to take to the local charity shop that only sells kids stuff today.

We have had to increase our debt a bit to cover the fees for buying this house so this is our first target when we move in. The house does need a new kitchen, new en-suite and redecorating throughout but we are not planning on doing anything but deep cleaning, weeding the massive gardens and the small maintenance jobs for at least 6 months.

Once we have moved in and I know the exact balances I will set my targets.

Our MFW goal is to clear the mortgage in full by June 2026. If we can OP enough to be below 75% LTV when our fixed rate ends in 2 years we will knock another 4 years off the mortgage by keeping out payments the same but getting a much better interest rate. We are hoping the value of our property may have risen a bit by then too as it will have been modernised by then and we paid approximately £40k less than it is worth due to the cosmetic work/new kitchen that it needed :)

DH and I stressed out about the move added to the fact that the PIL have messed us about with childcare and DB/DSIL have some marital issues going on. :( Our diet has gone to pot and our only exercise has been walking the dog.:o

Plans for the weekend are to take last of the rubbish to the tip, get some more boxes from C0stc), pack as much as we can in the limited space we have and eat well.

Well done you! In my experience things always drop off a bit when there is a lot going on. The important thing that works for me is to recognise why and just come back to it afterwards, in your case, when the move has happened and all is settling down again. Good to see you posting again. Hope it all goes well

Thanks all.:) I do feel like I am losing my marbles at the minute :rotfl: but it will be worth it.

Buyer is now asking for something else to be checked so we are unsure whether it will happen in three weeks now  This is the buyer who last week wanted to be in this weekend! Our sellers have agreed to leave us extra items FOC :T

We have so moved out of here and cant wait to be gone.

DB and DSIL have split up after over 26 years :( Our childcare has been resolved, will cost us more but be much better for DS and us.

Did I mention that DH got a promotion and pay rise? :A

I am plotting and planning what to do with our (much less than it was) available money once we have moved in as there will be some debt to clear and the mortgage is mahoosive compared to what it is now.

We are at the England game on Friday. Free tickets but will need some spends for a drink and transport.

Other less exciting tasks I need to do this week:
    • C0stc) again for boxes as none last week
    • Chase up packing paper that was supposed to be here this week
    • Decide if to postpone removals to avoid fee or leave as is
    • Meal plan and food shop
    • Tip run
    • Pay some money into bank
    • Sort out childcare dates with PIL and nursery
    • Dry cleaning
