Perhaps the problem is that you are unable to describe what it is that you are doing.
First you wrote 'back up', so I pointed you towards a guide to backing up.
Subsequently it appears that you want to create bootable USB media, so I have pointed you towards a media creation tool.
Perhaps you have not even downloaded the image as of yet.
In which case...download the image and concern yourself with the creation the bootable USB media afterwards.
In other words....forget about the USB Flash drive for now.0 -

I do have an ISO image on the desktop - I am trying to copy it to USB (converted to an EXE)0 -
Have you tried switching it off.... then on again?

You really don't seem to know what you are doing. Why on earth are you referring to an .exe(application file)?
You are creating bootable USB media from an ISO image.
Are you running Rufus as Administrator?0 -

No I am not running Rufus as admin
And I am trying to convert the ISO to an Executable file (which is what the Bootable USB media is ...0
