I think it would be helpful for peeps to add (not weekends) or (week days only) into the title of the Advents they post? Do you agree? Would save everyone visiting the site/page on a weekend only to find nothing!
Most of the time the comp hosts don't state whether they will be running at weekends or not ...0 -

Yes, but this weekend, it should be known whether they are running over the weekend or not.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -

I'd rather waste a few seconds looking at a comp post to see that there's no comp running, than have someone guess (mostly) as to whether they're going to be running/not running each weekend. Some companies might not do Saturday, but run one on Sunday, or not run this weekend and run one next weekend ... but that's just me ...and we all comp differently etc etc0 -
Thought i had slept through Sunday because royal mail were knocking at my door to deliver a prize lol.Jan Wins: .0

Is anyone under the impression that there are more advent comps than usual this year, but many of the prizes being given away are kinda rubbishy - especially from big, well-known companies that you would have thought would be a bit more generous? (Case in point - Asda today - 'win a bottle of Diet Coke'.) I've been looking at a couple of clothes companies too (Look, Navabi), and you would have thought they're picking things off their bargain racks that won't otherwise sell! LOL
So can anyone recommend companies that have had consistently good prizes so far? My own top picks so far are Kwikfit, Cookers & Ovens, Jet, Bergans of Norway, Mountain Warehouse, Silent Night - good mix of useful stuff and vouchers - though I suppose this also reflects my own bias, as I could do with a few things for my kitchen, and some outdoor clothing for my family. At least they're giving away the sorts of things they ordinarily sell. I've been watching Yankee Candle, hoping to win some Yankee candles, for example, but they don't seem to want to give many of those away.
By the way, a couple of years ago I won 4 different things from Advent comps, including a £100 Vue Cinema gift card. Not a bean since then. Keeping my fingers crossed that my luck will return - it's been gone all this past year.0 -

Be fair, I think it is a personalised bottle:)
This is probably the 4th year in a row with a decline in decent daily prizes - Capital/M&S/Currys and many more good ones have gone while some that remain have scaled back in value and/or not had a prize a day. There do seem to be more in total but it is very much "never mind the quality feel the width".0 -
I had about 80 competitions bookmarked. I'm down to about 50 now, quite relaxing but I doubt it will be productive. Will have to settle for the bottle of Zoflora!!Alice came to a fork in the road. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."
