Big business = jobs and prosperity = successful economy = happy people and nice place to live

UK = More people work in SME's than for big business.

It's blatantly obvious to everyone that those facilities will have to be relocated to another country that is, you guessed it, still within the single market.

Patronising after just a few posts......Must be a record for you.

Norway seems like a good example of a country that is doing fine outside ..

Ever been there? Comparisons to the UK are meaningless.

why would a company make such a stupid decision?

You think it's a stupid decision to base an EU manufacturing or HQ facility for the single market, within the single market, or you think it's stupid to move your facility that you have decided needs to be within the single market back into the single market if it suddenly became outside the single market.

Is there something about the advantages of locating within the single market that you don't understand?

Can't say I have Thrug so happy to hear your experience.

Can't be any worse than Belgium. :D
  • No I don't believe free movement of labour was ever a good idea and should be stopped.

So then you don't want the Norwegian model at all.

    Why keep mentioning it then?

In other words you're quite happy to sacrifice the prosperity of the country and it's people for a country with fewer immigrants.

The right to live and work in 26 other EU countries. ;)

Only if we leave the EEA.

That's not what is being proposed.

Switzerland is neither in the EU or the EEA, but still holds rights for it's citizens to live and work within the EU.

So, to keep on track - is there anything else you can offer which we would definately lose the benefit off should we leave the EU? (that's EU, not EEA). Ribbing aside, you are obviously passionate about the EU and the reasons for staying. All I'm doing is trying to look at these reasons.

The problem is, no one can seemingly actually give them, other than it's good for business.
