i have used the delivered without bags. and boy i'm glad i didn't choose that option on the hge 2 monthly shop i do. i had a £50 order delivered and it didn't take too long but i just had stuff everywhere. i did tho have 2 small children age 3 and 2 who were weilling to carry 1 item at a time to kitchen.
I said to driver i thouhgt this was a good idea at time. and he said everyone says that. next time tho i'll be organised. but some stuff still comes in bags. like cleaning products and bags of flour.
the driver said he would take it through to kitchen if i wished. but it was rainging and i have to admit i did think of the wet foot prints on my floor and declined.0 -
I find online shopping takes as long as I have
If I'm in the mood for fiddling it can take me an hour. I know though that the last time I was on hol and did an online shop to be delivered when we got back it took me about 10 mins - paying for the internet was a great incentive! TBH I think you're choosing to spend time by looking at all the offers etc, I do this too but I know it's about how I shop rather than about internet shopping per se (shopping with DH takes max 20 mins, shopping on my own takes the best part of an hour!).
Re the naked delivery, I've had this the last few times. They brought the shopping right in to the kitchen in the crates and I emptied them as they brought in the rest. It's best to try to have space to dump everything out since you won't get time to put it away but I do feel better for being greener (and of course you get extra points as well).0 -
I've used the deliver without bags option and used plastic crates to decant the stuff into at the door to then traipse right through house to kitchen. My DD also helped by carrying a tin of beans through, bless her, she was so pleased with her helping:heartpuls
However it has irked me a bit when the give green points for not using bags which are calculated on a 1 point per 10 items option. My order this week stated 4 points it arrived in 23 carrier bags, most containing one or two items (not just the cleaning things/meat/etc which need separation either).0 -
I too love to shop online at Mr Ts and every where else you can in fact, it does take a couple of shops to speed up I tend to look at offers and bogofs first then after doing a meal plan for the week go to favourites and then add any extras on after it normally takes me about 20 to 30 mins but I will often go on and add bits and pieces, remember to always use a code I look on here and hot deals to get the best ones round at the time, I tried it once without bags never again!Frugal challenge 2025

I love shopping, but have started using the home delivery so that i can use the extra point codes, as im saving towards a holiday!!!
It takes me ages to do my order, and like some others, i often go back and add/remove things up to the day of delivery. I also use the no carrier bag option, a few extra points always help!!! Im lucky, my kitchen is near the front door, so i just dump all the shopping on the kitchen table or worktop, and put it away when they have gone.
I also find if there is anything wrong with my order (yesterday the strawberries had a rotten one in it, the tortilla chips were crushed and a tin of bamboo shoots was dented - they also charged me £1.50 for a butternut squash, when the internet says guide price is £1.20) so i rang them, and they refunded me the tortilla chips, strawberries and bamboo shoots completely and the 30p overpayment for the squash. I know i was being picky, but if i had done the shop myself, i wouldnt have picked those items. The people on the phone are always helpful and refund without any quibble!!!0 -

No should have done - gave them away to family & friends - one friend repaid the favour but giving me loads of apples she had miscalculated on.0 -
You can complain online as well. I've only done it once (out of date bread) but they refunded the cost of the item to the card I pay with. There's a big drop down list of things that might have been wrong with the item e.g. Out of date, wrong size, missing etc. you pick one and a day or 2 later (I assume they make some checks) the money shows up.My eyes! The goggles do nothing!0

How does that work? If I had to empty the crates of their items one by one it really would take all day.
I used it, i still got bags, and the man was crap he dumped my stuff at the door, without offering to help...mind you i did use a voucher off the net which means i saved a tenner....but still!! oh and on the website it says something about all final discounts for savings and bogof etc is calculated by the driver, he didnt have a clue, just dumped my stuff and ranDebt Free Birthday: 25th September 2010 :beer:0 -
I have a very nice Tesco driver thankfully and although he offers to drop the boxes in the kitchen with my "naked" delivery then I decline and either carry though very quick (door right next to kitchen) but tomorrow I might have my re-usable bags by the door and just decant into them as the boxes come

The drivers hate the "naked" deliveries though as they take so much longer - can see their point but also prefer not having bags for environmental reasons...
But I try and make it as quick for them as I can

I've been supermarket shopping online for absolutely ages (and before the computer age I used to do a telephone order with Asda, does anyone remember that??!). I loathe going to the supermarket, so to be honest however long it took online, I would still do it, but it only takes me 20 minutes.
I make a list as I go through the week, divided into virtual aisles, then I go straight into my favourites and order from there. I don't browse the special offers unless I am specifically looking for something like cheaper shampoo or something.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.
