Please Vote - Renaming the "Regular Competitions" sub-forum

We currently have a sub-forum (f=93) named:
Regular Competitions
The place for weekly, monthly comps etc

When you first go to "Competitions Time" this is one of the first things you see.

Too many people interpret "regular" as "normal", and post one-off comps on there that should be posted on the main forum.

I propose that it is renamed:
Multiple Entry Competitions
For comps you enter daily or as often as you like.

The proposal is JUST about renaming to prevent posting in the wrong place. Current posting rules and customs & practice will remain unchanged.

Should "Regular Competitions" be renamed to prevent posting in the wrong place? 113 votes

I'd be in favour of it being renamed- Recurring Competitions, with the subheading "The place for weekly, monthly comps etc" as now.

    I like that idea.

While I can see what you're aiming at with the Multiple Entry Competitions, I could see that causing other issues- less experienced compers taking those to mean competitions where you can enter them multiple times in a day- when they may be once a day/week etc.

Just call it "The Dumping Ground" ... it looks like it at the moment

Whilst we are voting - could we also have a vote to stop newbies creating new threads without agreeing they have read the Comping Guide - so many threads today with incorrect title formats.

Except that it is not the place for monthly comps - decided long ago after much discussion.
Description should read "The place for daily, weekly or multiple entry comps etc"

Great idea - that gets my vote

And another vote for more board guides (one hasn't logged on for over 39 days) and the other one just ignores my move/merge requests
Yes, I know there is no "R" in the word dream in my username - it was setup in memory of my grandson :A

according to your own posts, you don't send merge requests

oh, just seen the change to your posts which now state your requests are ignored. that's a new one. last time it was because you have PMs turned off for 'personal reasons'.

you ignore me anyway, dunno why i am bothered ...

There is no point at all to the "Regular Comps" thread, close it down.

Put the odd one or two comps from there on the Main Board

The weekly thread (index posts at the start) stopped being updated ages ago

Can we not have a vote to put all comps longer than a day on the main board anyway?

    We have the daily comps posted and bumped every day, posting weekly / monthly comps on the main board would;

    1) enable lots more to enter (myself included as I regularly forget about that board)

    2) make it easier to keep track

It would also help comps not being left for months after they've expired because people haven't even checked.

I agree with it being renamed though - perhaps just "Daily / Multiple entries"
    Thanks to all posters :A
