As an aside, do these companies realise that they put customers off with their parking pseudo-police? If I go to one of the multi-store retail parks, I'll typically go to the one shop I want to and then be out asap rather than go into a number of shops and have a look around.0

A lot of them do, but the decision is out of their hands i.e. head office or retail park. Most of the shops in the retail park from Parking Eye Vs Beavis want Parking Eye to just go away.
All you can do is keep telling them. On facebook if you can "Hi <shop> I was going to hit up your _____ store today, but I didn't have enough time to avoid the predatory parking tickets so I went to ____ instead and got all I needed."0 -
