Tesco Shoplifting - need help.

Hi
I would like the cctv footage as it proves that there was no attempt at concealment - remember the Security guy told the Police Officer that I had placed the magazines inside my jacket - the cctv proves I didn't.
Its my right to request it - don't really have to explain to anybody why I want it - I would like a copy of it just in case it goes "missing" again.
The email attatchment says they are from the CEO's office - and the telephone number on the email says the CEO's office - so perhaps I am safe in assuming that they are coming from there............but maybe you know different ?
Nobody has to exert any "authority" over the store manager to provide the footage.......he has no option but to release it - subject access request ?

But you are trying to obtain proof to prove something that everybody now accepts is true.
Are you not just wasting your time?
What is the job title of this person you are talking to?0 -

Maybe I am wasting my time...........but its mine to waste.
Are you not just wasting your time by continuing to comment on my thread ?

No I find it fascinating to observe people when they are on a personal crusade like this.
It's very interesting to see what the outcome will be as I don't think you'll ever be satisfied.0 -

Many years ago I walked out of a shopping centre and realised I still had a magazine under my arm.
I went back to the shop and paid for it!0 -
What are you actually hoping to achieve from all this? Genuine question because if you don't know there is little point in continuing.0

Hi
Initially I wanted an apology and an explanation why the security person lied to the Police Officer.
I didn't want maybe an elderly person or maybe somebody who had learning difficulties to be put in the same position that I was and then "forced" into a situation they weren't comfortable with.
But as the whole "saga" goes on I am getting slightly annoyed by the continuing lies - the "lost/damaged" cctv footage.
Have to admit I am also not happy about having the phone put down on myself.
Its not a way I would expect any organisation to treat one of its customers - let alone a huge company like Tesco.
So I think its a fairly reasonable response to say at this stage I am not too sure what resolution I want at the moment as Tesco's story seems to change almost daily.
I will politely disagree in your comment that there is "little point in continuing"
I don't see it as a "crusade" as one poster has put it - but I do see it as a worthwhile endeavour.
It has to be remembered that at the beginning of all this certain posters assured me I was "wasting my time" and that I would NOT get an apology from Tesco and that I was lucky not to be prosecuted as I was indeed a thief.
But now that Tesco's HAVE apologised - removed the ban and agreed to return my Clubcard - instead of apologising to myself or admitting they were wrong those posters seem to have moved onto questioning my personal reasons for continuing with this - they are clearly stated above and have been throughout this thread.
If YOU were accused of being a THIEF and you knew that what you did was NOT intentional - then surely you would feel a little annoyed ?
Now that annoyed feeling would surely grow if the person who called you a thief then continued to lie and lie to you.......
I just find the whole matter is going from bad to worse.

What I would point out is that you seem happy that tesco have apologised but does that apology really mean anything?
The manager of the store where you were accused of theft has hung up on you and doesn't at all sound apologetic for what happened.
It seems pretty obvious that it's a corporate apology by tesco and the actual store involved aren't at all apologetic for what happened or how they treated you.0 -

At last something we agree on ;-)
