Amazon prime becoming slow to despatch

  • I'm getting annoyed too. They have the offer of being able to forgo next day delivery and they'll give you a £1 voucher to spend on music. Just this week I opted to go with this for one item and to insist on next day for the other (they'd split them) - the next day item was constantly saying it would be delivered on Tuesday, even up until 23:30 on Tuesday night! It arrived Wednesday along with the item which I didn't care how long.

It's starting to get to be a joke to be honest, I don't see how they can say next day delivery and then routinely not deliver

I was going to ask, any ideas on which courier its being sent through..... Seems that alot of people are having this issue because Amazon Logistics are the courier....

In my case it is all the couriers (including royal mail and Parcelforce) My problem is not really the delivery time but the despatch time is routinely delayed by Amazon now.

A few months back there was some fuss (in financial circles, admittedly mainly caused by journalists who don't really understand business) about Amazon reinvesting a great deal of money in adding more automated warehouses.

Presumably there were not doing this for fun, so it can be supposed that the current ones were approaching capacity.

Maybe this new unreliability is simply cause by lack of warehouse processing availability and will be sorted out once the new ones come on line.

The above is just specification, and does not account for problems cause by the use of 'Amazon Logistics'.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

I think the guaranteed next day delivery cut off time is key.

This varies from 12pm-7pm in my experience.

Anything ordered after the cut off time isn't going to be delivered next day and there aren't many grounds to complain IMO. Everything is clearly displayed on screen and throughout check out.

Anything ordered before the cut off and not delivered next day should be taken up with CS.

I ordered something Friday morning, around 9.30am, with the item description showing "order now for Saturday delivery" but when I got to the checkout the item was guaranteed to be delivered Monday. Same thing happened for another item I ordered at about 10am Friday. Nothing arrived yet, so it will be a Monday delivery, I expect. I did note that they deliver Monday to Friday for business premises, but also deliver Saturday for residential. I made sure I ticked the "residential" box.

The order before part will not be fully accurate it's more of a rough guide that to have any chance of that delivery it has to be ordered by whatever time.

When you go through the order stage and enter the delivery address ect it will then calculate when it's likely to arrive based on where the stock is being held and what carriers will have availability to deliver in your area.
