Amazon prime becoming slow to despatch

Just a bit of a rant really.
I have been a member of Amazon Prime for several years now and am seeing deliveries become slower (mainly over the last six months). Next day appears to be becoming 2 days, 2 day delivery becomes 3 days etc.
I am starting to get really p****d off with this. What is the point of paying for prime when Amazon can't be bothered to despatch thing on time.
Complain to Amazon and am being told that the majority of my recent orders have been delivered next day - yes next day after despatch, the fact that despatch is being delayed by 1 or 2 days seems to fly over customer services heads.
Looks like they will be losing another customer when my prime is up for renewal as I mainly use it for delivery convenience. One bright point is that it will probably cut my spending by a fair bit as I will have to think about my orders now.

Unfortunately their T&Cs almost certainly cover them, and always have. Delivery time is from despatch, not placement of order. The fact they're getting slower to process through to despatch doesn't change their delivery metrics.0

I find it same as a none prime buyer too sometimes it takes ages before the item is even dispatched. I recently cancelled a item which was in stock because it was still not sent out 9 days later and there is nothing to say it was being delayed either. Its happened a lot but not so much using amazon sellers. I was beginning to think they had delayed items to get people onto prime as they continually plug it0

Doesn't look like they are delaying to push people onto Prime too me. Until about 6 months ago, most things arrived next day. Since then I doubt if 1/4 of my orders have arrived next day - even if ordered at 7am.0

I haven't had a single order not arrive next day after I subbed for the first time in July. Strictly speaking there's no guarantee that Prime members will get their item the next day, but it would be a kick in the teeth if it was happening routinely.0 -
Not experiencing any issues myself. Providing I order the item while it still says "Get this tomorrow" on the product page, I have indeed had it the following day.
My only issue with Prime was that they upped the qualifying order value from £10 to £20. I used to order more from there when it was a tenner but it's harder to justify spending the extra when I need an item in a hurry.0 -

I didn't think there was a minimum qualifying order value for prime. Are you sure you have to spend £20 to be allowe to use prime?
I thought that was just for the free super saver delivery.0 -
Just had a look back through my recent orders for clarity. Out of 14 orders 1 has arrived next day with the norm being 2 - 3 days. Despatch is normally the day after I order something. The worst was earlier this week when I had a DVD that I had ordered for release day delivery (Monday). Amazon delayed the DVD to fit in with another order being delivered on the Tuesday (the DVD was ordered months ago, the other item was ordered on the Friday so should have been delivered on the Monday too) I will be cancelling Prime when my renewal is due as the service level has reached the point that it is no longer worthwhile for me.0

It will often depend on where the stock is being held if it can be dispatched the same day with a carrier who can deliver to your address.
I have Prime and I'm really happy with the service, I think I have only had a couple of items not arrive when they said it would.
I think something to try and keep in mind is the Free One Day Delivery is just one of the delivery methods that can be used on Prime rather than it meaning every order will arrive the next day.
This page has all the Prime delivery methods listed:

Yeah, you're right. I got a bit muddled between "Add-On" items and normal items. There's a lot of things in the lower price brackets that are classed as "Add-On" items which they will only ship with orders of £20 or higher, regardless of whether a customer is a Prime subscriber or not.
I've found on a number of occasions that something I wanted quickly was an Add-On item so I would have had to spend £20 in order to get it.
Not a Prime issue, my bad.0 -
I have prime and the only two times things haven't arrived the next day, I've complained on their live chat and asked for a free month of Prime membership, which they gave me both times. Worth a try!0
