Hi All - How have your weeks been?

Mine's been pretty good, I earned a respectable amount especially given I've only worked 4 days this week. Been on a training course today & (will be for both days over the weekend).

The biggest positive for me has been a change in my mind set. Last weekend I spent a lot of time reflecting and came to the conclusion that my anxiousness around money is the biggest thing getting in my way so I decided to try to cultivate an "abundance mind set". My first action was to take 2 sacks of clothes that I'd been intending to sell on eBay to the Charity Shop. (I admire people who can make eBay selling work for them but it just makes me miserable and I'm spectacularly unsuccessful at it). I also posted out some small gifts to people as part of a "pay it forward" initiative.

Small steps - still a work in progress but I feel distinctly better as a result of these small changes :)

I'm pleased you've had a productive and successful week, mine has not been 3 bad either, not much spending and I have cleared one of my 5 credit cards (whoop!)

small steps... I call them 'little wins' and thrive on them :)

I've reached the last day of my first month of self-employment & I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I've earned. It's come in at around my take home pay for my previous job and given that I'm unlikely to have to pay tax for a while given the expenses I've incurred that's pretty good going. Especially since I've earned it doing something that I love doing.

Once the "wobbles" that I suffered from in the first couple of weeks settled down - the whole experience has been a lot more enjoyable. It's really helped me to work on having an "abundance mindset" (and it does feel like I'm having to work at it.) Interesting trying to balance that way of thinking with being "frugal". Mostly I'm noticing that when I'm in a "scarcity mindset" I feel tense and scared - when I'm feeling "Frugal" its a lot more positive and conscious. When I feel that scarcity feeling I look for something that I can give away (CS is doing well out of me this month !).

Looking forward to next month I'd like to start to be more pro-active. I've been lucky enough to receive a lot of referrals from a Charity I work with and that has given me time to find my feet - I'm under no illusions that I can rely on that indefinitely and I need to diversify so this month I will be more forward looking. I've got a meeting with my mentor in a couple of weeks so she will hold me to account.

So all in all - a good month - thanks for keeping me company :)

Hi All - hope you've had a good week.

I had some great news yesterday (not work or money related). A couple of weeks ago the GP sent me for tests to rule out cancer. I've been trying to put them to the back of my mind and get on with things but it has been a worry to me. Apart from the obvious concerns with that kind of thing I'd been fretting about the fact that I no longer get sick pay now that I'm self employed !!! I got the all clear yesterday - phew!!!

It was lovely to wake up today without that on my mind - I've been feeling immensely relieved, thankful and quite honestly - exhausted ! So giving myself this weekend to recuperate then onto next week with no excuses.

Work-wise - last week I had a busy couple of days at the start of the week followed by a quiet few days which I'd intended to do planning - these ended up being less productive than I'd have liked due to impending test results... Some positives though - someone I used to work with has contacted me to say they would like to have me Coach them and I finally got around to ordering updated business cards & caught up on paperwork.

Onwards & Upwards into the week with no excuses :rotfl:

Have a great week everyone :j
