The games look reasonable not that many about yet but its only been available for 10ish months so just give it time, Zelda will keep you going for months, wii play and sports you canpick up and play whenever you feel like it, tiger woods is brillaint and red steel really makes good use of the wiimote and nunchuck. Driveing games im not sure about the wiimote can feel a little un responsive but its a laugh.

wii play and sports you can master within about 5 minutes...a bowling game where you can get strikes every time loses its appeal pretty fast...

tiger woods I'd like to try, actually - wii sports golf was great, but just too small...

Red steel was OK, but doesn't really cut it against 360 titles, vegas, gow, etc...

The minigame based games (warioware, raving rabbids etc) are fun, but I couldn't play them for many hours...

    Zelda's great...but £180 for one good game's a little high...

As more decent games are released the wii will become more of a player...just needs more depth in its titles...(looking forward to the mariokart)...I think I just suffered from getting it on release with no decent titles about.

I got a Wii recently and I'm a hardcore gamer and I love the thing! I have a PC so i've no need for a 360 or PS3 - I needed something different. You need 2 wiimotes and nunchuks - been beating up the family at boxing (first couple of days with that, your muscles hurt but you get used to it) and loving it!

Tennis is good too and baseball ain't half bad. Golf is less my thing so I don't enjoy it so much. Bowling is fun but gets boring. I got Godfather and its fantastic (especially if you've seen the movies) you get to beat people up properly and strangle with your hands! Great after a hard day at the office!

Resident Evil 4 is currently the best game out for the Wii, graphically and gameplay wise its excellent - even if you've played it on other consoles, RE4 is worth getting.

    Best Wii games:

    Resident Evil 4
    Godfather
    Madden 08
    Zelda
Super Mario Paper (not release yet but its supposed to be very good)
    Madden 07
    Wii Sports

Check out gamespots review of Wii games, it gives a decent insight into which games are worth getting. Although they slate Red Steel and I didn't think it was that bad...

A new controller is coming out with the next in the "Wii Sports" series, its basically a board you stand on, be interesting to see if games like Tony Hawks or a snowboard game comes out and makes proper use of it - i'd love that.
Faith is believing what you know ain't so...

Single player RPG's on the wii are fantastic gameplay wise compared to RPG's on other consoles.

Example, rayman, trauma center, spiderman, zelda, etc...

These will keep you going for hours, require more skill than other consoles and more interactivity.

Then you have all your fun games for drunken nights as well :)

After work I come home and play single player on something for a bit, then when the girly gets home we may play a bit of wario ware or whatever.. great fun

To wii, or not to wii, that is the question,
Whether tis nobler to ignore the desires of one hearts
And concentrate thy mind on a greater quest,
Mine own thoughts, count small in your decision,
But for me, to wii is simply the best

Fantastic games console - I hate gaming, but love the wii I bought for my hubby for fathers day. So versatile - our whole family can play it - my 4 year old son loves it...

I know others have slated these games but we love "cooking with mama" and the brain training games.

Wii play and Wii sports are the best place to start though.
  • Cooking mama, brain training, Wii sports(comes free), zelda, Trauma surgeon and wario ware are all GREAT games.

and considering its jut £170 (compare £399 for a ps3!) its a GREAT console.

its actually still outselling Xbox 360, and Ps3 worldwide!

Wii Big Brain Academy is excellent for £15 (actually it would be good at £30)

    hey,

just thought I'd post a different point of view....

i have had a wii since xmas and it is very good. However I have found a few problems with it.

Firstly it is very underpowered. I cant actually play call of duty 3 because the in-game lag is so bad it renders the game unplayable.

secondly is the titles - there awful. at launch they rel;eased were ok, zelda (good) red steel is good too and later games like warioware (good). However there are no "killer games" compare this to the 360 that has halo 3 coming in under a mth, PGR, Forza, GOW, Vegas as well as a well supported Live service (compared to nintendo's woefully under supported internet service).

Like i said i like my wii, but with nintendo's failure to support the console with a decent flow of games (which is EXACTLY what they did to the gamecube) i feel a bit let down and short changed.

    I am gonna get a 360 soon
