to wii or not to wii?

Options
Hi,
I am thinking about buying a wii games console to play with during the dark winter nights.
Are they any good?
Which games are the ones to look for?
I am not really a XBox or PS type person, but the wii seems to appeal to me.

Thanks

Great fun - and good with lots of friends round.
4 player Tiger Woods golf is great fun.

The Wii is more about good old fashioned gameplay rather than cutting edge technology and graphics so if that floats your boat then go for it - plus they're alot cheaper that PS3.

    Great interactive games console.
Usually comes with wii play and one wii remote control but if you buy wii play which also has lots of other games you will also get another remote control.
We also have tiger woods and recently we have bought brain academy which is also great fun.
Great for all the family to join in:D

    I've been Money Tipped!
I love my Wii, my brother got one when they came out and when I had a go on his, me and the OH decided we had to have one.

It's a great way to exercise without thinking you're exercising!

When you play the tennis, you don't half know about it the next day.

Would definately recommend getting one. They really are soooo much fun!
  • great little console (even though mine just broke...)
Zelda is good fun, and wii sports itself can be horribly addictive :)

Wii is excellent fun, especially if you're not into gaming.....it's easy to play.

I got it for my son at christmas and while I'm sure the games like Zelda are very good, Wii Play and Wii Sports are excellent fun and are what the Wii is all about. I would especially recommend Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
    extremely silly but FUN!!!

More serious gamers will get pretty bored of the wii pretty quickly, but if you're not a hardcore gamer, you'll probably get a lot out of the wii...

Can suggest warioware as a good, fast-paced party game :)

I have to disagree with Idiophreak, the wii has created a whole new way of playing games rather than just bashing buttons you have more involvement in the game. A fansastic peice of kit and well worth the £180 the shops are asking for them. The games look reasonable not that many about yet but its only been available for 10ish months so just give it time, Zelda will keep you going for months, wii play and sports you canpick up and play whenever you feel like it, tiger woods is brillaint and red steel really makes good use of the wiimote and nunchuck. Driveing games im not sure about the wiimote can feel a little un responsive but its a laugh. If I didn't already have one I would buy one. I have been a crazy gamer in the past and still am just spending a lot less money on my PC and using consoles. I use the 360 less than the wii now its just more fun playing on the wii.
