Reminds me of when we lived in R O Ireland in a semi detached with a shared drainage system. The landlord let both houses and rather irately called me out to see the blocked drains. He had wrongly assumed that since there were 5 females in our side, and 1 single male in the other - it must be us blocking the drains. I explained none of us used wipes, my girls by this time had all converted to muslin cloths and the OCM (they are all a bit eco-warrior). It turned out it was our neighbor's girlfriend, she only stayed over the weekends, but must have used close to a pack a day going by the state of the drains! No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -

I'm slowly leaving cotton pads too - muslin cloth is always leaving a more pleasant feeling on my skin anyway !ally.0 -
My DS went on a school trip to Yorkshire Water this year and they said that cotton pads shouldn't be flushed away either so since then I've been putting mine in the bin.
asajj - when I've finished my stash of eye makeup remover I will use a cloth to remove everything so no more cotton pads. On that note I have a uu:
No7 Eye Make up Remover - this is very effective and doesn't leave my eyes bleary. WNBA for reasons above.
I think that will be my last uu this month, I will total up later but think I have uu 33 things and had 1 freebie in. Some of the things were really big bottles and tubs so I am starting to see the difference not filling those gaps is making to the space my stash takes up.
On Thursday I went to York and did some Christmas shopping on my own, I though that temptation would get the better of me as I had to go into Boots, Lush, Crabtree & Evelyn and Fenwicks but I just didn't feel any desire to buy.
I am really looking forward to the day when I have used up all my skincare and can start a more simple, pared down routine.
Repainted my nails last night in OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest, it seems the perfect day for it today. I cracked open a bottle of Seche Vite as the OPI and Sally Hansen top coats are both rubbish and I am having to repaint my nails every couple of days, Seche and Poshe are the only top coats I will buy now I think.

Our last house was in a group of 8 and had a slightly dodgy connection to the main sewer which from time to time resulted in backing up of the nasties to some of the houses (will not give anymore information:eek:), but it meant that flushing any wipes, pads, ladies stuff was a complete no-no, so I have been a non-flusher for 35 years or so. I use cotton pads for eye make up remover, toner and nail polish remover of glitter or tough stuff, but I do cut them into portions of suitable size for the task, so a pack lasts me for ages.
Dolly - so envious of your shopping trip to York, it is I think the nicest place I have ever been to shop, the combination of lots of choice and the beautiful city itself are so good. Have your tried Nails Inc Caviar top coat, I think it is my number 1 above Poshe and Seche, really fast drying and no shrinkage, perhaps not as ultra glossy, but not far behind. My nail polish has been Essie
Sand Tropez, it was looking a bit shabby on a couple of nails so as I am short of time this morning I have popped on a coat of Nails Inc Devonshire Place ( fine liquid sand effect) and now looks tidy again. Need to do a mani tonight before I go away. Nails are really growing now that I am wearing polish every day, only have 1 very short one now and will actually be able to file the rest later:jThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. I TA one Sanctuary Facial mouisturiser that was in the basket for about 3 years. I couldn't use it despite trying hard, the consistency of the product wasn't for me nor there was any difference to my skin.
Also UU'ed last night Sanctuary Hand Cream. If I find this on a right price/offer, I would buy again.ally.0 -
maddie - I have a Nails Inc Caviar Top and Base coat in the stash and also the new kale base coat. Haven't tried them yet though.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi ladies,
Some final UUs for October:
Dove creme mousse body wash 200ml. Very nice, wba if I see it at a nice price.
Ted baker body wash 50ml. Does the job, bought as part of a gift set from MrB sale.
L'occitane jasmine hand cream 30ml. Not my favourite of the hand creams, slightly greasy feeling. WNB this formula again, there are others I prefer e.g. the lovely almond one!
One tiny in:
A mini sample of la Roche-posay efflacar duo+ which I was interested to try until I found out is from a L'oreal company0 -

Body shop neroli jasmine shower gel mini- Wmba wasn't my favourite scent although I did like it. It is quote strong and the scent lingers on your skin which I quite like. As with all BS shower gels it lathered up a treat. No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018
