Goodbye debt hello mortgage

  • Pay day tomorrow so another £100 will be wiped off my debts I really look forward to pay days and my paid percentage going up :) I think a lot about debt free life and making this house mine. It will be so nice to be buying a house for the first time in my life and also debt free for the first time since I turned 18 too.

I have been thinking today I am going to save a safety buffer before saving for my deposit as it will be the sensible thing to do so that if anything goes wrong in the house or with the car I won't have to borrow money and I will have it ready. I am thinking of maybe £1000 as I have been reading Dave Ramsey's guide and that would be a nice buffer for emergencies but I must not dip into it unless its really necessary.

It will put my deposit back a little bit of time but it will make things easier in the long run, right off to put some more things on Ebay :)

Good ide on having an emergency fund. That way you will not need to rely on credit cards etc ever again.

It's a good idea getting a emergency fund, I set up a standing order of £25 a week which goes into my normal savings account, this covers us if we need anything done to the cars, or kids desperately need something, it's a lovely feeling knowing it's there if you really need it xx

Well done on paying off 20% of your debt xx

Thank you I'm so pleased at getting to 20.1% that 0.1%is important :rotfl:

I like that idea once I'm debt free I think I will set a standing order up so it will come out monthly on pay day :)

  • Tuesday my friend will be paid in full and debt number 3 will be gone :j I am looking forward to Tuesday so much right now. :j

Took my daughter to the fair last night it was so nice to have some fun and I have realised I should do something fun once in a while as the debts are going and everyone needs a little bit of fun sometimes.

I am slowly getting down the food in the freezer and I can't believe how much I hoard I really need to break that bad habit and buy what I need. Right off to make some cakes for next week for work as it's my turn this week :)

The only advice I can give is to pay the debt the minute the money hits the bank, I am using calendar budget which helps knowing exactly how much I can pay in debt. If it's not there I can't spend it on things I want and not need.

The sad thing is I realise how much I wasted gambling and smoking. It's in the past now but it does make me sad to think about it but this time I have changed for good :)
