Another day survived... just about. Thanks everyone for your kind words - I really do appreciate them all, and they make me feel a lot better. It's been non stop again and I'm really getting tired now. Got home to find that dh hadn't made it out of bed at all today, which is obviously not ideal but I am carrying on regardless and trying to help ds enjoy his birthday. He has had depression and anxiety his entire life - he tends to keep going until he breaks, and he broke at the weekend unfortunately. So, on top of my little list I have also done another load of washing, washed dishes, put the rubbish out, hoovered through and had a shower. I gave up on the idea of a NSD and spent my last £20 on a KFC for dinner tonight as a birthday treat for the kids. Cheered them up no end.
Bob, I really hope that your little man is feeling better soon...

PS: today I discovered that you can buy duck nappies. I'll leave that fact there...

I used to keep ducks, and while they are endearing creatures, I can see why nappies have been thought of - they leave elephants' turds all over the path  (the postman complained once :o) It must be very sweet to see them all waddling along in their little nappies, but I really would NOT fancy changing them :rotfl:

Then, went to collect son, only to have his teacher (nicely) telling me that she didnt think he was very well & shouldnt be at school tommorow if no change. Poor thing really was in a state, it wasnt much fun trying to get us both home with bikes etc, but if I'd known he was that bad I'd have ordered a cab from the school, warning them that we'd both have bikes.
We got as far as the park & I sat him down for a small rest, & he was violently sick everywhere. At which point I was thanking god we werent in a taxi! For us and the driver.
We made it home in the end, and I've put him on the sofa with his blankets, a bucket just in case & he hasnt stirred since or wanted any food or drink. OH at home again tommorow!

Its a funny one as we both felt that teaching a child that they can linger at home with a cold isnt wise. He'd already had Monday off & OH said he was fine, just a bit of a headache, slight temp, but was fine to be on his Xbox, watching TV etc. This morning he grumbled a bit on the way in but was bright eyed etc, now he looks terrible. So anyway we'll just have to see how he gets on. Its nice the school are watching out for him and not making us feel bad for missing work etc.

Poor little chap :( It is difficult to know what to do sometimes, isn't it - they are up and down so quickly at that age. Hope he is ok tomorrow

It is going well, thanks, but doesn't leave me room to post properly on here on work days.

A new me is emerging; or rather the old me is back! I attribute this to two things: (1) I have reduced the amount of multi-tasking I do. (2) I have nearly conquered my stress issues with the aid of a daily free relaxation App and I £1.89 stress reduction App. After years of trying all sorts of things, finally I have something that seems to work. And it's worked unbelievably quickly.

Got a packaged bank account? (One that you pay for that comes with 'perks'.)

You might want to read this article to ensure you actually get what you're paying for. (Link)

I work in a local pub in a small town. With both a bar and lounge side. Think along the lines of traditional country pub but in need of some tender loving care (not been touched inside since the 70s). Its got a great regular base which has kept in going throughout the year. Its more of a family/community pub for gathering and socialising, not really a place where you would find anyone drunk. Its about to undergo a refurb in about a month and then the kitchen will reopen and day trade will pick up again. Quiet at the moment due to no food and all the shift workers working the opposite shift. I do work a night club as well on a Saturday night, I nip over to it once the pub as quietened a little and three staff is no longer needed. the nightclub is part of my roots so I like to keep a little hand in.
