    Morning all!

    I'm back pretty much in one piece after Tough Mudder!

    Annoyingly I put some rubbish out this morning and saw a puddle - turns out it was the hose leaking which I'm hoping is only since yesterday when I used it to hose off my very muddy clothes!

    I haven't read any of the thread since Thursday, so I hope everyone is ok. Hugs to CCL.

    Today I have/will:-
    * Check banks
    * Have a tidy around
    * Soak clothes from TM one last time
    * Wash clothes from TM and hope they come up clean!
    * Take lunch to work
    * Take cottage pie out of freezer for dinner
    * Package up CDs
    * Put CDs in car and post off TODAY
    * Post one parcel at lunch
    * Earn more on OnePoll
    * Post other parcel on way home
    * Dinner from stores
    * Put clothes on eBay!
    * Submit meter readings

    Think that's everything for today. Hope you all have a good day.

    Hi all,

    Thanks to Ally for starting us off

    CCL - I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a bad time. Please do make sure that you look after yourself. I know the temptation to try to do everything but it wears you out in the long run.

    Quick list from me:
    • Charge phone in work
    • Check online banking and reconcile spreadsheet
    • B/D from stores (apart from OH picking up a few onions)
    • Possibly make a little bit of soup with some squash in the fridge
    • Chop up bits of roast pork rescued from f-I-l (was going to bin the end of the roast!)
    • Tidy round (can't seem to keep the house clean atm!)
    • Woohoo payslip is here - budget night with OH then!
    Small one from me, getting over a nasty cold...

    Have a good one all

    Afternoon everyone :)

    Thank you Ally for starting us off :)

    STILL reading through the weekends thread so got a lot of catching up to do!!

    Finally got internet sorted at new house, it's being installed on the 12 by the PO (they were the best and cheapest in the area). Also changed my electric supplier to a cheaper one (had a phone call from someone on behalf of the EA that does it, normally don't do these sort of things but it did seem a lot cheaper so went with it)

    Sat down this morning when I woke up and wrote a list of things that I need to do (I'm a list person, hence why I love this thread, you're all amazing too :D) I have SO much :eek: so got up and had my breakfast and thought I would have a quick lay down on the sofa. Ended up having a sleep so only had time for a bath and then had to go to work. Thing's done on my list = 0 :(
    Do think I needed the sleep though as I was so tired yesterday, emptied the old house and gave it a clean though and then did a couple more bits in new house. I actually went into the loft which is something that I HATE doing (massive spider phobia) so was quite pleased with myself.

    Anyway enough of the long post and on to my list today. Gonna try and keep it short and sweet today.

    List of things to do/have done today
    - FPL (still need to change address although technically still living at old address, will have to do this at work no Wi-Fi at home :()
    - Water at work

    - Don't buy anything in my break at work
    - Get some shopping or at least something for dinner
    (OH did this :))

    And I think that is about it for today :)

    Hope you all have a good day :) and sorry for the long post, sometimes my mind runs away with me!!

    Hello all,
    Odd sort of day today. Had to go out to a meeting mid-morning, which took up most of the morning with getting ready, getting there, back, etc, then this afternoon, I've been catching up on various unfinished jobs. Not much money saving, but on the plus side, haven't spent any either! So today's titchy contributions to Planet Budget are:
    *Two baths from one lot of hot water. Tempted to put towel radiator on. Didn't. Opened windows instead, as it's a nice sunny day.
    *Paid cheque into bank. As soon as it clears, I'll pay it into my credit card(used CC to get my Mum's groceries, so as to build up my John Lewis points).
    *Posted birthday card only to friend. Decided to save present until I see him. It's quite fragile & I did think about really swathing it in recycled bubblewrap, but it will be over £5 to post, I think, so I will hand it over in person (then he can have 2 birthdays!).
    *Leftover lentil roast for dinner - will do jacket potatoes with it & a big salad.
    *Pick lettuce, watercress & other bits & bobs from veggie garden.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
    *Knit more hat. Didn't get it finished last night as went out. It's for a present, using yarn from my stash.
    *Use-it-up going well. Cut-open tube of moisturiser finished today, also the last watered down little bit of a shampoo. Gave Mum a product I received in a gift set which I am unlikely to use, so that wasn't money-saving (except for her) but it was another item decluttered. While on subject of decluttering, nag mr f to construct the box we were sent to send back our Tivo box to Virgin Media now we no longer pay for a contract which includes it.
    *Make list of garden jobs to do on Thurs which I've ear marked as a super-duper amazing gardening day. It's going to involve picking quite a lot of stuff, so may also lead to a kitchen day.
    OK, must shake a leg,
    Wishing you all a nice evening.

  • Bob I took 8 weeks maternity leave when I had DS2, 2 weeks before he was born and 6 weeks after. Even now I am slightly ashamed to admit it but I worked in a tough, male dominated environment and just couldnt afford to be away for any longer. I only did an afternoon a week and Mum looked after DS so it didnt do him any harm. You do what's right for you and stuff what anyone else thinks.

    CCL sorry things are hard, hope I havent got the wrong end of the stick but if DH has depression I really feel for you. I have been there with DS and you just feel so helpless.

    I am having an off day. Fed up with money being tight, fed up with work, fed up with everything really! One way or another it will all be better once DS has seen the consultant tomorrow for his six monthly check.

    Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Everyone

    Well today was a bit meh! Cafe was dead until lunchtime, when funny enough I ended up having several builders sitting in having lunch. They dont normally like to come in, preferring the greasy spoon down the road, but I was very glad they did.

    Then, went to collect son, only to have his teacher (nicely) telling me that she didnt think he was very well & shouldnt be at school tommorow if no change. Poor thing really was in a state, it wasnt much fun trying to get us both home with bikes etc, but if I'd known he was that bad I'd have ordered a cab from the school, warning them that we'd both have bikes.
    We got as far as the park & I sat him down for a small rest, & he was violently sick everywhere. At which point I was thanking god we werent in a taxi! For us and the driver.
    We made it home in the end, and I've put him on the sofa with his blankets, a bucket just in case & he hasnt stirred since or wanted any food or drink. OH at home again tommorow!

    Its a funny one as we both felt that teaching a child that they can linger at home with a cold isnt wise. He'd already had Monday off & OH said he was fine, just a bit of a headache, slight temp, but was fine to be on his Xbox, watching TV etc. This morning he grumbled a bit on the way in but was bright eyed etc, now he looks terrible. So anyway we'll just have to see how he gets on. Its nice the school are watching out for him and not making us feel bad for missing work etc.

    CCL - We are hanging out for payday tommorow too. Looking forward to seeing your signature going down even more!

    Dawn - Thank you! I think its just one of those notions people have now because mat leave is generally so good in this country for most people, why would you carry on lumbering around like an elephant if someones going to pay you to sit down and rest? I went off with my son at 36 weeks as the commute was getting too much (used to work in the city) & I was bored stiff as he didnt appear till I was 42 weeks, and I regretted that wasted time so much when I had to go back on his 8th month.
    Its also funny, but a lot of the customers I have who like the idea of my business, wouldnt be caught dead actually doing it. I think a few in my family are along those lines.

    JoJo -Is it a club you work in, I cant remember, if so, can see why days would be slow at the moment. Glad you had a nice Mummy day :)

    Princess - Your spreadsheet may be scary now, but you'll be glad of it come the big day.

    La E - Congratulations! May it bring you years of happiness :)

    LittlePinkPurse - Wow, you have made so many huge changes. Lovely to see you posting again, dont lurk, join in :)

    Carrie - Words fail me. Other than to say 'thats quackers'

    Chocolate - Well done on fighting your spider fears and going in the loft.

    Yorkshire - Thank you too for the support. Sorry you feel down today. Big hugs. Hope sons appointment goes well tommorow.

    Foxgloves - Even your titchy list days are epic :)

    Right off to see if the invalid needs anything.

    night all
