Same registration number on 2 different cars

An update:
The cars now have different registration numbers. It looks as though the number that was on both cars at the same time has been transferred to a newer car, as the vehicle that had it originally now has the different number. So I am glad that I waited and observed rather than jump in and report it immediately.0 -

The other thing is screw holes are usually in different places, so for a tidy looking car new ones are essential. The US has the right idea in having pressed aluminium metal plates and standard fixing locations.0 -
Noel Edmonds was up to that trick recently.
Two cars - same plate.
His were in different countries though I think.
It was picked up (I believe) when both were driven on the same day and either spotted for speeding, or some hawk-eyed person spotted papparazzi snaps and realised he couldn't be in the SAME car as he'd gone from A to B in a helicopter0 -
Hi
If a car was declared SORN can it be kept in a supermarket car park?
From: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/UntaxedVehicle/DG_4022058
Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) means that, by law, DVLA must be informed when a registered keeper does not re-license a vehicle because it is not being used or kept on a public road.
In a supermarket car park is owned/leased by the supermarket so is not a public place as it's a company's private property.
So the van driver can drive the vehicle around the car park but can't drive it on the public road unless they are taking it for an MOT.
However due to it reguarly moving spaces I would contact the police as all the cars I've seen dumped in private car parks are left in the same place for weeks and months, and only moved when the management puts a notice on them that they are going to scrap the vehicle.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

they may also move it to keep the battery charged, give it a few laps round the car park...0
