Had our Henry 2 years and only on the second bag. The bags really hold a lot, and are very easy to change.

I was just coming back on here to ask that exact question. How big are the bags and how often (on average) would they need changing say hoovering a 6 room house?

And importantly (of course). COST! How much are these bags? I noticed that on a video review for a Dyson bagless - one of their selling points was that you save hundreds of pounds (think it said up to £500) in vacuum bag costs over a 10 year period.

    Thanks.

Lot's of votes for Henry. But which model number?

Is the lower powered 580watt Numatic one sufficient? Or should I try and find one with a higher wattage? They seem to range from £90-160.

The bags are 9 litres. I pay about 60p per bag for the hepaflo bags. Paper bags are cheaper.

£500 for bags over 10 years?. Unsurprisingly this statistic comes from the inventor of a bagless vacuum. I've spent about £10 in 10 years.

The most recent ones (HVR200-12) are 620W and have a Hi/Lo switch like the old ones, there are probably a few older 580W ones floating around - these don't have the Hi/lo switch.

620W ones sucks like a beast, we have one. Need to switch it to Lo, put the attachment on hard floor mode AND open up the bit on the handle to reduce suction on our lino otherwise it tries to rip it from the floor... ;)

Not sure if this is Curry's Video or Dysons. But yes I did hear correctly (though she did say bags AND filters if that makes much difference?)
Click on the video link (under the main Dyson picture)...and listen from 0.26 seconds in.

I would say 'not really' since a Dyson is not immune to filter degradation.

I commend your level of research. I hope it results in the perfect vacuum for your needs. :)

I forgot to ask. Which replacement bags do you get?

If I do go for a Henry I thought I may as well get some bags at the same time so they're here whenever needed.

Will the paper ones suffice or better to go for something a bit more hardcore?

There also seems to be a HVR200-A2 model.

I'm trying to find out exactly what the difference is.
