The op says such failures don't happen in electronic systems.
It's all covered by disaster recovery apparently.
FWIW I work on disaster recovery systems and they are for disasters E.g. Entire site goes up in flames. Disaster recovery does not ensure that every single transient failure is picked up.
So I say transient individual failures can happen and aren't covered by DR systems.
Petra - not sure if you've read the whole thread, but the op is being petulant because there was a delay. Yes it's unusual but it's life and these things happen from time to time where electronic systems are involved. It's not a life support system or an aircraft where "fail safe" systems are a matter of life and death.
The op is being both petulant like a child having a tantrum because systems did not work perfectly and also has no system of his own. As repeatedly pointed out, all sensible people check all their transactions for reasons of budgeting, mistakes, fraud etc. It's not hard when you have 24/7 online access. we all think they have some responsibility for checking themselves.
You also can't come on here and demand free advice and proof.
You can ask for goodwill and advice and mostly people will give their opinions which may be factually incorrect.
If you want professional advice then pay a professional, but if you come on here making demands then expect people to be a catty and snarky.
If I ask for free advice then I'm nice to people for offering their time and expect that their may be some answers not to my liking, but it's free.0 -
I once had a hotel bill take over 9 months to appear on my credit card statement. Do I win?0

Not sure why people are being so catty and snarky towards the OP. I think it's weird and unusual too, for a company to wait 2 months before processing a transaction. I think it would be worse if it was a debit card or a cheque though, as you would think you had say £300 in the bank, and then BANG, you have £240! (Because you had assumed it had gone through a couple of months ago...)
So I think the OP is quite entitled to be a little miffed, and people should stop giving them a hard time about it. Are people not allowed to have a moan without being attacked FGS?
Why would you assume it had gone through a few months ago, do you not check your statements?

It's highly unlikely any merchant would take longer than 7 days, but sometimes it may be a few weeks before appearing if you have a fraud block applies to your card shortly after making the transaction.
If the payment is processed after 181 days the account holder can request a charge back using code 74.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
