    Hello all!

    My five OS pleasures today:

1: making my first ever batch of jam with damsons left over from last year. First batch i boiled for five minutes too long and now it's damson gel!! second batch, 10 minute boil, crinkled nicely and now (fingers crossed) is just right. Oh well, a wasted batch but i'll never forget that for damsons anyway!!

2: Fresh organic eggs from our lovely chooks

3: Home made cherry cheesecake (mascarpone/kent cherries etc) Why would anyone buy a half assed effort from iceland?? Bleughhh!

4: My beautiful boys just going at 100mph all day (but not in front of the tv) playing trains etc

And 5: That homebaked loaf of bread my wife baked that we'll be having for tea with damson jam!!

It doesn't get much better i reckon!!

    Have a great day all!!!!!

Ollie Lovely to have you back :T :D :j

Ceridwen I used to laugh at my parents listening to Radio 4 :o now my children laugh at me & ask how can I listen to something with no music on it and call me an old lady (I'm 42) :rotfl: Hopefully you'll get the time to listen yourself soon.

Bella I totally agree re home made versus bought when out food. The homemade is always better, cheaper & nicer ;)

    My five for today are:

    1. A lie in :T

    2. A lazy day reading.

    3. The sun has been out for most of the day.

    4. The latest lettuce plantings have come up in 3 days.

    5. Some 49p grapes from Aldi were a lovely snack earlier :money:

Hello, everyone. Hope you don't mind my joining in - it seems like a great way to stay motivated and that is something I really need.

    1. Having a nice lazy day getting caught up and taking our time doing things.
    2. Making a pledge to myself not to be too lazy when using the oven and making the most of it by using all the shelves.
    3. Finishing another page of my cross-stitch. Only another 4 pages to go!
    4. Having a nice long walk in the sunshine. Bliss.
    5. Sitting down to a nice meal that will serve us both tonight and tomorrow night.

    Thanks, all

3.Our rescue house bunnies lily and rodger have now been with us a week and come up to me and give me bunnie kisses
4.Seeing my little girl(3) and her beautiful blonde curlylocks looking so sweet as she sleeps on the chair
5.Going upstairs and seeing my boys room looking lovely after recently decorating it myself and putting together the new furniture.

Ollie - so good to have you back, you have been truly missed.

    Today's pleasures:-

    1. Visitors today - the lovely bunch of sweet peas I picked from the garden this morning made the house smell beautiful.

    2. Lovely piece of half price silverside cooked for dinner, used six portions and there is enough left for meals for a day or two.

    3. Visitors loved my rhubarb pie, I'm so glad they did as not everyone likes rhubarb.

    4. The peace and quiet at the end of a busy day.

That's all except that I am

    5. Going to send an email to a good friend, I'm very blessed to have her.

    1) Owner of local deli giving me some rye bread for free
    2) Having a coffee and brownie in coffeeshop and watching the world go by
    3) Passing a house with a pink grass umbrella over their outside table - made me smile
    4) Cuddling with our cat
    5) Decluttering a couple of areas in our house that have been bugging me for a long time
    6) Sunday dinner
    7) Chats with the neighbours
    8) Finding the right color for the walls in the kitchen - just have to get my butt into gear to paint them
    9) DH just coming home with a choccy bar for me
  • Hi to all those who have posted for the first time recently!

    Ours for today are
    1) Texts from DD, who is away. Sounds like they are having a lovely time and I get to know she is all right (worried mother syndrome)
    2) Lunch made from last night's leftovers - put together in five minutes, which suited me nicely
    3) An afternoon at the allotment. I like weeding and I didn't think I'd get the weather for it.
    4) Advice from one of my allotment neighbours about the potato blight (cut off the foliage before the lurgy gets down as far as the tubers and leave them in the earth) and a gift of one of his first cucumbers. What a lovely man!
    5) Looking at the photos of other people's gardens on the Green Fingered Thread. I'm quite nosey but I also have a new (to us) garden to organise from scratch, so I'm looking for inspiration too.

    Sweet dreams, everyone.
