    Hi there

Sorry been MIA had a tough few weeks and startning to wornder if a little trip to the drs is in order. But maybe the sunshine helped and the fact am getting my reduction in hrs at work from the 29th, so here goes for yesterday:

    1. Sunshining and nice and warm
    2. The three men in my life together for the day.
    3. A nice family drive round the coast to places I havn't been before even though they are on my doorstep.
    4. Paddling in the sea even though it was freezing but the smiles on the kids faces said it all!!
    5. Cuddling up with OH at the end of the day. Doesnt happen often as me and the kids live with my folks and he lives 20 mins away.

All in all a nice day so fingers crossed the sun comes out and we can all have another fun day xx
Although I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

Good morning everyone it's a lovely day here so hoping it's similar for everyone else.

Reverbe Hope you're ok and feeling a bit better about your self (((hug)))

Bella Enjoy your & DH's retirement it's a lovely time. Having said that my Mum was ready for the divorce courts during the first year :rotfl: I think that Dad found it hard to move from business man to retired man and started to question lots of little things in the house that Mum had always done & he'd never paid any attention to for 40 odd years ;) They're fine now though honest!

Ampersand Hope a strawberry plant comes up soon for you. I love the idea of your barbeque being tucked up in an old shower curtain :money:

Meallmine/Ollie The back room has to house the hoover, sweeping brush, dustpan, mop, DH's paperwork and ONE set of shelves are given over to me. It never stays very tidy or empty for long  it is a useful space though. I buy dog food in 15kg sacks and store it in there but the cats have recently took to tearing holes in the side of the bag & hiding out and eating it :D:D

    My five for yesterday are:

    1. I had a phone call from a firend that I haven't seen in 10 years. A lot of catching up to do.

    2. My best friend came round yesterday & we put the world to rights laughing about our sometimes disgusting boys!

    3. I bathed the dog so he smells beautiful - for now.

    4. The ironing is up to date after I did it twice.

    5. Appreciative thanks for last nights meal - chicken curry with lots of veg padding in there.

Enjoy your weekends everyone & I hope that we can all find blessings along the way.

Seems dreadful to quote self, but as I now see it's happened again, can anyone explain, prevent?
First one is betty Boop shimmying alongside moi/interesting older woman doing same.
Second is photo of all out fatcat showing her best bits while reclining on sofa mit bouteille.

Oh dear, 4hours have passed, with only some of it spent gardening:o.

Helloooooo :hello: - another very pleasant morning here today. Unfortunately, as there are no pennies left in the Bank - and none in the purse either - I'm going to HAVE to be very constructive about what I do for the day. Otherwise I'll waste it vegging out on the sofa re-watching programmes that I've seen a thousand times already - the down-side of Sky-TV!

    - there's a thought, shopndrop - I've got a couple of bags of 'breadmix' in the cupboard, so I could 'have a go' at making a loaf to pass part of the day :T. Funnily enough, I've always been able to get up early when on holiday - as kids we used to go working on farms in school holidays and needed to be there by 8.00am (leaving the house at 7.00am to get there!) and I was always the one up and about looking for a shop selling milk when we were camping.
    - thanks for the clip ampersand, he's great isn't he! From one pedant to another, that would really bug me too :rotfl:.
    - :hello: raggydoll - good to see you back again :) - just climb back on board with the rest of us. Mmmmm macaroni cheese is delish but my OH can't abide 'creamy/cheesey sauces' so I tend not to make them. Maybe I should just make myself some individual sized ones for the freezer - you've given me an idea there :T!
    - Awwww Caterina, how sweet! The best kind of baby - the sort you get to hand back at the end of the day AND being paid for the pleasure of looking after him ;). He sounds delightful. I'm getting dgd2 (20mths) for a few hours on Tuesday :).
    - what a wonderful way to 'round off' your OH's Retirement Day, Bella - nice and quiet with some very simple pleasures - the promise of more to come I'm sure :).
    - welcome :hello: Dustykitten, this is a great thread - looking for daily blessings really does help to lift the spirits. at memories of exam days (only 'O' levels in my case, thank goodness) - hope your son is coping well with his.
    - shame about your strawberries, ampersand - but good news on the borlotti bean flower :). 'Monsieur Merle' rings bells with me somewhere deep in my memory but I can't, for the life of me, think where from. Good gifs site :T.
    - good to see you back, Teresita - sounds like you had a great day. One of my 'ladies in work' came from Port William - is that anywhere near your 'neck of the woods'? I'm another paddler - when I get the opportunity .
    - hmmm 'disgusting boys' - know exactly where you're coming from there, SunnyGirl - they do sometimes improve as they get older ;). My two are now 36 and 30 - but there are now 3 dgs's to take their places - how sweet ;). Congratulations on your sweet-smelling dog - I used to have one that smelled worse when clean than dirty .

Friday's blessings - mmmm now let me think:
    1. Thank the Lord for what I've learned on MSE during the past couple of years. Still managing to hold on with no money to spend. Half a loaf left, some barm cakes and a pack of frozen ciabattas as well. We'll get there :j. Found 2 packs of bread mix in the cupboard as well :D. The milk, meat, potatoes and veg situation is good too - could do with some fruit, but we'll survive.
    2. The salad and herbs are growing well in their pots, not ready to use yet but that's my own fault as I was a little bit late starting them this year.
    3. Stripped the spare bed yesterday and managed to get it all washed and line-dried. Decided it was dry enough to bring in and then felt the spots of rain as I took it off the line - phew! Now need to re-make the bed some time today and tidy the room as well.
    4. Need to get some washing done shortly - uniform for work mostly as everything else is up-to-date.
    5. Made a start on an aran jacket for dgs3 for the winter. He'll be 18mths at Christmas, so it should look cute on him.

Hope everybody has a good weekend with lots of os money-saving blessings to share later.

((((((HUGS)))))) for all - love Ollie xxx

Several blessings and the day is only half done:

    1. Breakfast on sunny patio with free range eggs and home made marmalade.
    2. MASSES of baby froglets migrating from our tiny pond. A reminder for anybody with tadpoles to please be very careful from now on when they mow their lawns as so many of these little babies get chopped to death in mower blades.
    3. Visit to PYO Farm this morning and returned with masses of lovely fresh peas & broad beans. Veggie patch too small to grow enough of these to make it worth while so if anybody has seen my thread asking for recipes to use up pea & broad bean pods, I can hopefully use these too, to avoid putting them on the compost heap.
    4. Free sample sausages from our friendly butcher so we can try out a new variety he has made.
    5. Rescuing our strawberries from a wood pigeon who has discovered them and can't keep away. (Perhaps I should put a decoy sample in the middle of the lawn and sprinkle it with chilli !)

I've just GOT to post - have taken a granary loaf out of the oven and it's now cooling on the rack with a tea-towel over it to protect from all the 'buzzy-things' flying around today :j:j:j!

Been feeling down lately, bit better today so here's my list for the last few days :)

    1. Being given a bag of cherries - my fave fruit :D
    2. The wing mirror unit only costing £20 - thought it would be more.
    3. OH fixing wing mirror unit on car, and fixing the dodgy window at the same time.
    4. Getting help on here for my car overheating issues and working out exactly what bit I need to get to sort it out :D thanks all, saved me a trip to a garage :D
    5. The sun shining and drying all my washing.
    6. Feeling a bit less like things are the end of the world, and feeling a bit less like I want to curl up and sleep for a month - still tired though, just a teeny bit less downhearted.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    Good evening all,

What a lovely day it's been with the sun shining for most of the day.

Ollie The bread sounds lovely and has served two purposes in having kept you busy & not having to go and buy any :money:

Newlywed Glad you are starting to feel brighter ((hugs))

    My five for today are:

    1. Washing dried on the line, folded & away by 3pm.

    2. Watching Underdog, a Disney film about a superhero Beagle (which we have), with DS3 this afternoon.

    3. Making soup for tea from remains of frozen veg & things lurking around the bottom of the fridge. I served it with part baked baguettes & it was enjoyed by everyone.

    4. Making marshmallow rice crispie bars with DS3 - and eating quite a few as well :o:D

    5. Having some time to sit down & relax.

Enjoy your evenings everyone and may blessings come aplenty.
