However, not all DPF equipped cars work like that, and so it's not blanket-truth that a vehicle with DPF will always use more diesel than one without. Depends on the implementation.
Thanks- Now it makes sense when Honda released their new shapes diesel Accord in 2008 and on their advertisement they mentioned something about burning in the sides to 600 degrees Celsius to clean the insides of the engines and turning the waste into ash...0 -
So your car went from 170bhp to 200bhp but they are just numbers because you didnt put it on a rolling road.
I had my 2L diesel remapped from 130 to 1001bhp so the guy with a £30 cheap chinese box and a scruffy laptop told me. Cost me £50.
He reckoned i could outrun a Veyron easily now and still do 60mpg.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I'm not going to argue with your stupid post. TDI's are known to achieve good gains from stage one remaps. Numbers posted by Superchips or REVO or any reputable remapping company aren't exaggerated at all. In fact their numbers are proven by a many people who had their cars tuned by them and had (go on VAG forums)rolling road, dyno graphs that they shared0 -
Superchip the Yaris next- but don't forget to have some back brakes fitted!0

Surprised no one here is talking about the Bilstein B8 shocks and H&R springs. Most on here probably never even heard of the companies or that gas shock absorbers exist.0

After, Audi decided it was a non-optional item and was mandatory. As with the PD 140 TDI, 98% do not have a DPF but when it was first launched (05) Audi gave the customer an option to have it fitted FOC (don't know why anyone would bother, but very very few did). This was what the Audi main dealer told me anyway and said I'm lucky not to have the DPF in my PD 170; downside is that my MPG will be marginally less than one with DPF.
Just for your own info Audi didnt "decide" it was mandatory, it was Euro IV emissions legislation that forced their mandatory fitment.
Some manufacturers opted to fit them optionally ahead of the cut off date.
Your very much better off without it, and you're right to feel lucky. My Jag X Type 2.2D is a 2005 model with no DPF, a mechanical EGR valve and 155BHP. If it had been a year younger it would have had the DPF, the BHP would have dropped to 143BHP because of it, and it would have had a troublesome electronic EGR valve.0 -

As has been said, the manufacturer will supply estimated increases, and the bigger players figures WILL be quite accurate.0 -
Doesn't the X type use the same chassis as the Mondeo? I prefer the S type. I thought you were a BMW fan so why the jaguar?0

I prefer the S Type, but i need an estate and this one was cheap.
Moved away from BMWs for the meantime, so we've the X Type for the dogs and supermarket runs (and for lying at the airport when i'm working away from home) and a 2013 370Z as our main car.
Really went out for a 2.5 v6 or 3.0 v6 Jag but this one came up first, and i bid low...
Thats the 370Z behind it
The Jag will probably go before the new year. Not "feeling the love" for it0 -
370z...interesting. Glad to know that there are few enthusiasts on this forum.
Someone I knew had the 350z for a couple of years. It was the last build engine with 313PS engine. Amazing car and loved the Bose sound system. He used Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5w30 which is an ester based oil. I'm pretty sure the newer 370z has the same spec oil as the 350z. So only a suggestion...0
