This could be my last post for a while. To cut a really long story short I start work tomorrow doing a manual job for a week and then I have the option to either stay with that company but move up to Middle Management (responsible for 300+ folk, gulp) or change to another company and do a simple job instead. My brain is mush trying to decide! Think I'll have to write a pros and cons list and decide that way.
Good luck with the new job ally - even with the short notice start. Good luck with the decision making as well.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »

Another hectic day - we didn't make it to tonight's open evening, but I still managed to be on the go until well after 9pm again. I won't bore you with the details here as I've just waffled on in my diary for a bit about it. Basically DD won a cake at last night's school open night, so we had to collect it. Then I also decided to do the shopping as I was out spending anyway, and I booked tickets to take her to the cinema at the weekend.Ccl- as a fellow teacher, where do u get extra exam papers to mark from?
I have been working as an examiner for Edexcel for about 5 years now. Life is completely manic for the entire month of June, but the extra cash is worth it and the insight into exam marking is invaluable. I was promoted to Team Leader a couple of years ago, which means that I have the job of remarking exam papers if schools request a second mark. There aren't usually many - I've had 20 trickle through since the beginning of the month.
I would highly recommend it if the exam boards are recruiting in your subject at the moment. I know AQA are recruiting as I got an email from them today asking me to apply
And Bob - you have my most heartfelt sympathy if you've had a day like I usually have... It's awful when time goes by so fast that you barely even notice it. You get some rest and get your feet up..Not giving up
