Giff Gaff phone + Three sim only

Like most, I'm absolutely stunned by the miserable Three retention deals... I'm on a £39pm One Plan contract, which has been rolling out of contract for almost a year now. I don't want to leave Three as I travel a lot and really take advantage of their roaming service. I have no intention of losing a AYCE data plan at 39pm to go to a 4/6gb data plan at £50+ pm.
I have just seen Giff Gaff are offering iPhone 6 at £27pm, with a minumum £5pm goodie bag - so £32 pm.
Is there anything stopping me from getting the phone from Giff Gaff at £27pm, then going AYCE data sim only with Three for £17pm?
£44pm. AYCE data. Cheaper than getting an actual Three plan!

If you get the giffgaff phone you only have to buy the goodybag for one month.
And it might be worth never ever inserting the giffgaff sim into the iphone. They have a nasty habit of locking themselves to the first sim that's used in them.0 -

So the initial first month would be £32, then £27 for the rest of the duration of the 24 month contract.
Surely onto a winner there? Just about the cheapest way to get an iPhone 6 on credit?...and the Spurs go marching on.0 -
Just asked on their community forum...
'Hi Matthius, all giffgaff phones are unlocked to all operators so, no, you don't have to use the giffgaff SIM in it.'...and the Spurs go marching on.0 -

No-one mentioned buying from CarPhoneWarehouse, that little trick is a unique feature to them...Lmatthius23 wrote: »Just asked on their community forum...

I bought an iPhone 6 from them a few months ago, my daughter is happily using it with a Three contract sim.====0 -
Just an FYI for you all...
I went into my Three store this morning and switched over from an expired £39pm One Plan to a £17pm sim only deal with AYCE data, AYCE texts, and 200mins (I don't call people!)
Also went on Giff Gaff website and ordered 64gb iPhone 6 for £23pm (for 24 months) with no hassle whatsoever.
I think I've got myself a pretty good deal here - basically staying on an AYCE data plan, plus getting the handset upgrade I desperately need without paying for Three's awful upgrade offers/deals....and the Spurs go marching on.0 -
It sounds perhaps reasonable for someone who just must have an iPhone, but it is still about £550 for that phone. Could you not be satisfied with instead buying a decent Android phone outright for say about £120 to £200?0

Not really the point - but to answer your question, no....and the Spurs go marching on.0 -

If the person wants an iPhone what's the point of buying a low end Android?
If someone on the forum wanted to go on a cruise on the Queen Mary would you tell them to be satisfied with a trip on a DFDS ferry to Holland?====0
