Ouch, Petal88! I'm always intrigued by those sorts of classes but then relieved when I don't have to go through the soreness.
I'm sporadically doing pushups/tricep dips/leg lifts but should focus more on strength training once this running thing is easy/old hat.
I've sent an e-mail about the review so hopefully that will remind the relevant people. Not at all confident about a pay rise, but who knows... (edit: got a reply asking to schedule it for tomorrow, so at least that's possibly on the books now and can be over with already)0 -
I must say - body pump classes are really good fun and do wonders for your fitness. I think once you've been a few times the soreness definitely decreases to something a bit more manageable than what I've got now
Oh and bear in mind core + leg strength is imperative to your running, so you might benefit from starting exercises like that sooner rather than later.Mortgage Oct '20: £615k

Yeah, that's why I'm doing the situps/leg presses.
I'm on 6-week programs for everything but the leg presses, but I'm only doing them 1x/week rather than 3, so they'll likely take a while. There's a 6-week program for squats which I should probably add in as I can do those from home (rather than the leg press machine which is only at work).
Also requested a book called Your Body Is Your Gym from the library, which is apparently full of bodyweight exercises. Will see if that has interesting stuff in it, I think it has a 10-week workout template?0 -
Fingers crossed for a fantastic review0

Thanks! It's been pushed back to next week
but at least it's on the calendar now. And hey, maybe by next week I'll be over this lurgy and my brain will work again!

£10.77 OPed from DH buying books in USD that come off his allowance.
Review happened, went about as expected. Feedback on salary will happen later in the year.0 -
Cheques deposited last week finally cleared, so made the £168.64 OP today from budget tidying.
Daily interest projection for March: £9.99 :j
Also down to £951.91 extra to find throughout the year to reach sub-£130k in 2016.
Today should be pay day for both of us, so February can close out and March OPs can begin. Come on direct deposits!0 -
Still no sign of either paycheque.
On the plus side, payout from 1poll arrived earlier than expected. As I haven't made March's £1,100 OP yet I'll count this £40 OP as a February one. That's now 4 days of interest, woo!
Current mortgage balance: £152,539.80
I've started eyeing our final payments (current forecast: March 2021). The £40 OP today reduces March 2021's payment by £45.31.2.6% per year isn't too bad as a return.
