Don't let them get away with it Hidden! Tell them you want the costs covered and some chocolate as an apology for the annoyance.
    Total Mortgage OP £61,000
    Outstanding Mortgage £27,971
    Emergency Fund £62,100
I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>

  • Thanks lippy! Have yet to hear from them. :( Will chase it up tomorrow though.

Did hear back on the N@tionwide cashback. Apparently we had to do a full switch (which I thought we'd done, but apparently not) within 45 days (which we could have done but I waited the 30 business days to chase it up). So...no cashback at all. :(

Not a huge deal as we were going to switch 2 accounts over and were only anticipating cashback on one of them. Turns out we should get the £150 cashback from Clyde$dale so we're still £50 better off than anticipated, but being £150 better off would be nicer. ;) Did send them a semi-snarky e-mail saying that if their communication had been better it would have helped a lot. At least we can milk them out of the 5% interest for a year and then bail.

In better news, got £50 in gift cards from surveys, so that finishes off our home improvement savings (not counting the extra spent on the door/handle). Hoping to be able to OP a bit again this month, but need to balance the savings as well (another home improvement spend next month, and possibly the month after that!).
  • All sounding very busy and productive - wtg.
  • Thanks SHS, just trying to power through until Xmas break starts! DH will still be working, but at least we'll be home and can relax a bit.

  • Indeed, DFOD! Helps to keep things in perspective. :)

Props to H@lifax as I logged on to find our £100 switch bonus in the account as of last Friday even though I don't think the switch is complete yet (it's DH's account so I can't check).

Today was super crap at work - at least it's the last full week of work this year! Also work Xmas party on Thursday, so the end of the week should be pretty quiet.

Grrr to courier company. Did you take photos? (Found that useful when a lorry ran over our garden wall)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Yes, have photos thankfully. Courier company apparently contacted W1ckes to acknowledge that they should call me, but have yet to actually do that bit.

Will see if they manage that part tomorrow.
  • Not what you need at Christmas, when its busy enough!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......
