Oh no, how frustrating that the courier damages your house whilst delivering doors to decorate you house with....!!! Hope it all gets sorted soon HS0

Thanks ST! I need to chase that up again today - shockingly no word back from W1ckes or the courier themselves.
Super tired today - xmas do last night which really isn't my thing. Full day of work, then off to a bar to drink (I don't like alcohol), then discovered we'd gone to the wrong location of the bar chain so off to the right one, random chitchat with coworkers. Dinner (finally!) at about 9pm, very limited options for g/f and vegetarian (tasty enough, but nowhere worth the price - at least that was the company's expense). Finally left at 11:30 and (of course) just barely missed the last train. Got home around 1:45, paid £20 for taxis that I could have not spent if I'd left 20 minutes earlier (but felt rude to do so).
At least that's over anyway.
Today's the first day of our new fix, so I'm hoping to get paperwork confirming our new payment schedule/amount soon. Bring on January 1 for the big gun OPs!0 -
Oh how annoying re the train and the taxi cost - hate when that happens. I have my work do tonight and am feeling a bit bah humbug about it too - at least it's only once a year, eh?
Yay to the new fix! What rate are you on, and do you have unlimited OPs ?MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -

Yes, thank goodness! Despite living here for almost 6 years this is the first xmas do I've been to, and I can't say I'm impressed. DH had his last week and it sounded much better - only did a half-day of work (if that - he was sending me pics of xmas cookies they were making at about 11am) and they were done with food by about 5 (we managed to go out to the theatre at 7:30). Packing a party/really late dinner on top of a regular work day just seems mental (especially on a Thursday, running on about 4 hours of sleep today and that's without a hangover).
Yay to the new fix! What rate are you on, and do you have unlimited OPs ?Just for fun I asked the bank what would happen if we paid off all but the last £1k in those 5 years and they seemed surprised that we could but had no problem with the concept - I think technically we could pay all but the last £1 before the fix ends and we'd avoid an ERC...might be a fun challenge!
On that note, DH should get his bonus in January, so that's cool. Not sure how much it'll be, but anything is better than nothing. (Looks like I'll get nothing? Well, we did get Burt's Bees Tips & Toes boxes last night, but I'm not sure that a £10 sample box really counts as a "bonus".) DH should find out what sort of pay rise he'll get in March/April as well.
Not much else to report. Work processed the season loan finally, so I should be able to figure out what OPs (if any) we can make for the rest of the month (though on our new rate it's arguably better to keep money in savings rather than OP it, so might have to work on breaking out of the "that's not exciting" mentality). Looks like it might be as much as £100, but I'll wait until we're off for the break (and know we won't spend much more) before committing it.0 -

Nifty bit of remortgaging, congratulations!0

Your figures are going to be impressive next year, especially if you can list 2015 and 2016 comparison figures each month.
I'm thinking along similar lines to you. In 12 months ill be looking for a new fix/remortgage. At that stage i'd hope that we would have 7 years remaining working with our current methods/budgets. Its a way off i know but i am thinking of fixing for 5 years and really really going for it to pay off by the end. That'd be knocking 14 yrs off the original 30yr term, so a massive ask but a good challenege!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -

We figured even if we miss our goal, we should only miss it by a year or two, so if need be we could stay on a variable rate for a few months or re-fix for 2 years (payment should be stupidly low by then so that's almost as good as MF, right?)
Definitely looking forward to the 2014/2015/2016 number comparisons.0 -
Congrats on the new rate0
