You are all lovely people. Thanks for the support. I REALLY appreciate it.
Dawn - thank you for taking time out of your busy day to give me specific advice. It really is very kind. And not lecturing at all. Experience is always appreciated when trying to weigh things up.
Much of what you say resonates.
Well. It didn't pick up much. £80 today instead of yesterdays £50. But I managed to pay my landlord all but £50 of the rent. Which I should be able to scrape together tommorow. I text him to say what I'd done.
To be honest I wonder if I should have negotiated a better situation for myself when the business started back up again earlier in the year. I think to go from complete closure for 6 months to full rent expected within a month of restarting is quite an ask? When I first opened 3 years ago I had a 3 month period including the fit out where nothing was due. I am not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes especially the landlord but in hindsight I don't really see how I could be expected to set off at the same pace once again.
I have 1 months rent remaining to pay for this calendar year then a break as it's always done over 10 months.
I think knowing I have the break coming up, & that the baby is due anyway and I don't yet know what will be possible anyway. I won't make any snap decisions yet. But use the months to the year end to think how often things are bad or whether this is still what I want.
Thanks for listening

News:
* Apple are launching a free upgrade to iOS9 tomorrow, it is rumoured. I would suggest backing up anything you value on your phone before upgrading as these new releases have a history of being temperamental. You can read about it here. (Link) Also, on at least one occasion, a new release has disabled the alarm clock feature so I would set a second alarm if you are relying on it waking you up on Thursday!
* Virgin Media Broadband 6% price rise coming in November. (Link)
* AA credit card will no longer provide loyalty points or cashback from October. (Link)
* Tesco have confirmed that, as of October 5th, when the bag tax is introduced, they will no longer award green clubcard points for bag re-use. We've had this for a while in Scotland now.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Hi everyone
Late check in from me today because I just didn't get up early enough to get on the internet this morning. I'm hanging onto the fact that I had a pretty good day yesterday because today has been one little stresser after the other. Never mind.
Bob not time for making big decisions about the business yet I wouldn't have thought. Wait until baby arrives and see how you go from there...

Wombles in late, long day at work and no time to post - work can be so inconvenient at times :rotfl:
Bob - sorry times are tough, I run my own business too (although I have a FT job too) and DH used to be self employed for 7 years. Sometimes it's really hard to make decisions as you are so emotionally close to it, but this emotion is also what makes it great too. It will work out ok in the end - you need to think of baby Bob too
My list for today (I have/will):
HM soup for lunch
Tea from stores, left overs for another meal already boxed up
WM on 30 overnight
DW on overnight
check banking - PAD to CC
get DH to check his mobile - £10 more than normal out of account - also check when contract is up so can go sim only - actually this will have to be tomorrow as DH already in bed as has O/T early tomorrow
Meat out of freezer to go in SC tomorrow
Check 1poll and £co
Think that's all for now.0 -
