What does the invoice and contract say?
Are they trying to imply part of the terms allow you to park wherever you want for a fee?
Or are they trying to claim that breaching the conditions results in a fee?

Get onto accurately absorbing up-to-date info., post a draft for a critique, update yourself on Beavis.

The ticket states:

NOTICE OF BREACH OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS PRIVATE CAR PARK / PRIVATE AREA. YOU HAVE FAILED TO COMPLY WITH THE TERMS CLEARLY DISPLAYED ON WARNING NOTICES PROVIDED. No warning notice was provided to me.

Reason for Issue: Failure to Display a Valid Permit

In honesty I actually copied the issued permit, and changed the number to camouflage myself - and indeed this worked for a few months. But I cant see this being of any relevance.

Either private parking charges are lawful or they arent. I cant see any form of consent to their charges being implied by my actions, and dont see how that may affect my standing

I have a copy of my lease here. There is no specific mention of parking. But :

9. The Landlord agrees with the Tenant as follows -

(1) That the Tenant paying the Rent and performing the agreements on the part of the Tenant may quietly possess and enjoy the Property during the Tenancy without any lawful interruption from the Landlord or any person claiming under or in trust for the Landlord

Will get a copy of the wording on the signs posted in the car park ASAP

To link to a photo/scan, you first need to host it on a free photo hosting site (Photobucket or Tinypic), copy the URL, paste it here, but change the http to hxxp (or remove it all together) and we'll do the conversion. Newbies can't directly upload photos/scans until they've got a few posts under their belt.
