It's not irrelevant at all, we all know amber means stop but people shouldn't preach when they are guilty of the same sin.

There is a big difference between thinking its OK because "everyone does it" and doing it, but accepting there will be consequences if you get caught out.

I would suggest filming the junction to confirm whether the gap between the light changes is correct.

Could be tricky when the OP appears to have no idea where the junction is, which in turn makes me think that perhaps the whole thing is made up.

If they fail to get you an NIP in the next 2 weeks, then you'll be fine. If it does turn up after 2 weeks, send it back and refuse.

Don't fund the Police christmas party.

The 14 day rule only applies to the first NIP. If the OP isn't the reg. keeper, or he hasn't kept the address on his V5C up to date, he might get a valid NIP some time later.

You can't "refuse" a NIP - it's merely a notification of likely action. It usually comes with a section 172 request to name the driver, which is not subject to the 14 day rule. Failure to comply has serious consequences.

Not good advice - a certain 6pts for that course of action.

Failure to provide the nip if they have posted it, means a summons.
