We just did ham rolls but included breadsticks and babybel cheese in there too. Raisins, yoghurt tubes, drink, sweets and hula hoops.

The party bag was just the birthday cake.

I had a bowl of crisps and sausage rolls for the adults that came.

Did something similar for DDs pool party a couple of years back.

Similar contents too. The only problem we found is that 30mins isn't enough time to eat anything when you put 20 9 year old friends in the same space. Too much to talk about! No time left to eat!!!

When my son attended a pool party a few years ago, for a joint 10th birthday party of his friends the parents didn't do party food as such. What they had instead is a few boxes of crisps and a few cases of drinks, and they gave each child as they left a bag of crisps and a bottle of juice. I thought this a great idea, there's limited time to get out and kids are always 'starving' after swimming. There were a lot more kids though, a good 60+ as there's was a 3 class school year.

Jam is a popular alternative for sandwiches. Just make sure it is good enough quality not to contain gelatine so that it's okay for veggies.

Sandwich, crisps, cake bar, fruit and a drink is adequate. Raisins are slow to eat, and tube yogurts have the potential to be messy.

Can't really go wrong with cheese sarnies, ham sarnies, cocktail sausages, cherry tomatos, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, cheese cubes, crisps and cake.
