I still have not got the standard email that most others seem to get & having just checked the MySky account again, there are no offers to stay etc. The letter itself does not offer any incentives to keep the Sky TV package either.
That letter is the same as I got via email so don't worry.In view of this, I am wondering if Sky have flagged me up on their system & have decided not to offer me any deals or something like that? Why would they send me a letter instead of the standard mass email that the system sends out pretty much automatically for nearly everyone else?
No it's nothing at all to do with offers. The email wording and letter wording are almost identical - neither gives an offer. It's just standard practice and you'll get one or the other, sometimes even both.
Stop worrying. You now have the cancellation letter so you know it's gone ahead. Sit back and wait and see if you get a phone call. If you don't let it switch off and you will eventually get an offer.0 -
As has been said, the wording in the emails is similar and it's probably better proof than an email.
I wonder: On My Sky, there is a section where you choose the means of communication (marketing being a separate item). Do you, perhaps have ' by post' ticked and email excluded ?0 -
@jem16 - OK - great to know & just content now that I know the Sky TV Part has definitely been cancelled & that the contents of the letter I got is pretty much the exact same you guys get with the email - I will just relax now somewhat & wait for them to get in touch! I will update so you guys know the outcome! Just remind me - are they likely to contact you before the 31 days or afterwards? Mega thanks jem!
@teddysmum - I had made sure about a week ago that they can contact me by either email, telephone or letter by ticking all the boxes - just checked now & they were all still selected so it's a mystery why no email received but at least I have got the letter now - scanned it & saved it to my computer just in case it gets lost/thrown away by chance!

It doesn't mean anything. Mine was the same but I still got 60% off and a bill credit before it was even switched off. Just use live chat or call them.0 -

I think that was a case of someone sending the wrong message to a customer on the point of leaving/just left, as Sky consider you new if you've been away for 12 months. The page he links to is just the usual 'see what you are missing' blurb that applies to anyone.0
