It's pretty exciting to see it as a new beginning, rather than returning to something which was broken. I'm getting there, and the time I've spent with Mum is really good.

Congratulations are in order I hear, Bobarella! Very pleased for you. It happened so quickly! (Maybe not whilst you were in the middle of it.) I'm glad it all went well.

As for right now, I'm focussing my 'online' attention on the £10 a day challenge, except I'm going for £5 because I'm here in the US and a lot of the usual money making things aren't happening just yet. :(

I have been pretty well behaved money-wise. Got some DVDs out at the local library, including The Judge starring my most favourite actor in the world ever. *_* Very excited to see that as I know it's new, and I get to see it for free. Yippee!

I think I might end up making a list of money I've made in October from all these awesome websites and things. Need to come up with some way of recording it because I'm a nerd like that. It would be great to be able to do something online for the other people who sign up to join the challenge. I loooove data. Haha.

What a great attitude Ollie. I really admire your take on it all. And thank you for the kind good wishes :)

Hope today went well/will go well (slightly disorientated in the time line of international life)

  • Thank you, Bob. It's lovely to hear such kind words from you.

I'm in the past! Currently it's 3.35am (why am I awake??) and in the UK I believe it's 12.35pm! Lol.

Life is very slow and quiet, and that's actually helped me to focus on things I didn't notice about myself before. My Mum & my Step-Dad have been so supportive which is wonderful.

I'm trying very hard not to think too much about what's going to happen when I 'get home'. I have a lot of concerns about money, and long-term plans, and whether the GP will accept the diagnosis I got in Australia for BPD or whether I'll be asked to see a psychiatrist here. It's not so much that I think I'll face challenges with obtaining a diagnosis, it's more that I don't want to be on a waiting list for 18 months only to tell a professional about something I now realised I've lived most of my life with.

Keep being tempted to buy things, but I've managed not to. Even though there is a game available on steam which helps you to learn the theory of programming languages and looked really interesting!!

On the flip side of that, of course - I'm trying to decide whether I should go bankrupt or not when I get home. It's all a lot to think about, but I'm trying to stay relaxed and calm!!!

  • Hey Ollie, was thinking of you and wondering how you're doing. I'm having a bit of a relapse — more depressed, anxiety up and down but mainly up — but trying to get into the Xmas spirit all the same! How's your writing going? Mine isn't... Hope to rectify that at the start of 2016 though :)

Anyhoo, hope you have a merry Xmas and fabulous new year. Don't worry if you're going through a bad patch and feel unable to reply — I just hope you read this and feel a little better. Feel free to pm me anytime — we borderlines should stick together! :D

  • Hi Bob and Aspiring!

Thanks so much for checking back in with me.

I'm home now, and it's all a bit bizarre and overwhelming. Christmas was great though, and my parents have both been really supportive and things look like they're going well!

Hopefully I'll find the momentum to start keeping things up to date and stuff soon. Haha!

Best wishes to the both of you. xxxx

    Hi again!

I've been back in the U.K just over two months now, and finally it feels like I'm able to start getting into a routine.

When I think about things categorically it's still not great, but over-all the outlook and my mood is positive.

On the health side, I'm waiting for Schema therapy and have dropped my meds down from 90mg to 30 mg over the last 6 months. I'm also waiting for a referral to a psychiatrist to obtain a formal diagnosis of BPD to enable me to access other services.

Housing-wise, I'm still staying with some very kind friends, and waiting for a landlord I used to rent from to get back to me about the possibility of renting a room from him. There are so many landlords who won't accept tenants who are on benefits, but as I've lived in a home of his before there's an element of trust, which I'm hoping works in my favour! (I'm responsible with important things!)

I've been working on a website [Link removed by Forum Team]. My biggest focus was to get the word out there that you can have depression AND something else. I'm not even sure if I've ever been depressed - or if I have, whether it's been a direct result of the Borderline Personality Disorder. After 13 years of anti-depressants, counselling, and other unhelpful and ineffective therapies I'd like to think maybe we can open eyes to the possibility that depression is not the answer to all mood disorders!

I'm also a vegan, and love photography so I'm trying to incorporate other things I enjoy as part of a blog and articles. I think it's coming together. (I'd love it if you could check it out and give me your thoughts.)

As for money saving, I'm trying to tackle this mountain of debt. Honestly, I need to get my stuff together and declare myself bankrupt! It's going to take weeks to save up the money for the deposit, and on top of needing to find a place to live I think it might have to be put on the back burner. :(

There are so many positives, as long as I can rein in my spending whilst still eating healthily and whatnot.

    So that's me!

I hope you're all doing well, and staying positive and making more money than you're spending. =D
