Hey Olliegami! Glad to hear you made it safe to Alaska and are with your ma! Can you go via a proxy site to access the uk sites? I don't know much about it other than you can!

Glad things are going well
My parents have completely different political views from me and it's incredibly irritating — I don't get how anyone from a working class background can vote Tory  Rainy day fund — 210/1000 Emergency fund — 1019/1500

DNM - I didn't think about proxies! I tried using them in Australia, but the hostel ISP blocked them. Totally forgot that it might be different here. I'll give it a go.
I suppose I should embrace the food. Haha.
ABA - I could write an essay about how difficult I'm finding it at the moment. Luckily the TV has been off today, which means no Fox News. Yay! I'm not sure how anyone with an ounce of compassion can vote Tory, that and the way the media portrays people is so twisted, I've stopped watching TV because it's all a load of bull!! Not that the internet is any better. It's a shame that we have to investigate deeply if we want the truth about news these days, because let's face it - there are very few media outlets which promote positive news!0 -
It's my third day in Cold Bay - and I am thrilled by how quickly I've settled in.
Already I could feel the 'antsy' feeling that I associate with 'not having anything to do' setting in, but last night I sat down and made a list of 'things I would like to accomplish'. It's ridiculously simple, but when I look at it I feel so much better about what I'm doing.
On top of that, I was SO THRILLED when I checked my e-mails this morning to find that someone had ordered a blog post from me on Fivesquid! (Shamelessly plugging !!)
I've already got that finished, so I feel very positive about that!0 -
Go Ollie! It's very exciting reading about your big move. I've never done any really big periods of time away from the UK so it all sounds very interesting to me. Despite your obvious issues, it's a amazing you've done it anyway." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Thanks for the ongoing support, Bob! =D
This is the first time I've been away from 'home' for longer than a month since I was eleven!! I've always wanted to go here there and everywhere, which hasn't really been helped by having so many friends in places all over the world that will be more than happy to offer a place to crash.
The weather here in Cold Bay is as it's name suggests! Never known a place that has so much wind though. It's about 30mph at the moment, so I really want to go for a walk but then... I really don't.
So I've been doing a lot of sewing! Today I made four coasters that were really simple and I reckon I'll give them to a friend for Christmas. Trying to think of other craft-like things to do. I have a bunch of boxes that my Mum gets 'Birch Boxes' with miniature samples in but I think they would do for gift boxes with a little alteration!
So I'm thinking, really - the best use of my time might be to get ready for the big 'C' word whilst I'm here and have all the time in the world!0 -
Where do you plan to be for Christmas?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I'm heading home on the 15th December, so I'll be in the UK again. =D0

Oh! Sorry for the confusion. Mum lives in a place called Cold Bay, in Alaska! She lives here 'cause my Step-Dad works here. So, this is 'home' until the 15th December, then I'm going back to where I lived before I left - I have other family, and a whole bunch of really good friends.
No idea where I'll lay foundations for home though.0
